First of all its the way the front bar is put onto the car theres nothing wrong with it, secondly they are not 'german plates' but euro luxuary plates as the RTA likes to call them. all start with N.

Wrong... its got nothing to do with the way the front bar is put onto the car, and yes there is something wrong with it... its a very poor colour match.

The worse for mismatched panels paint wise is apparently the Ferrari Enzo in red!

I used to have the European plates on my Focus way back before I put the custom plates on and started heavily modifying the look of the car. They were so wide though, they made the car look tall and skinny because they were so wide. That's the reason I got rid of them anyway, of course other people have other opinions.

The worst part was that Ford just self tapped the plates straight into my front bar when they installed the wide plates, so the holes had to be filled and painted as they were in plain view with custom plates on it. Fortunately I was up to the installation of the front bar, requiring a front end respray that took out all my stone chips too, so that wasn't the end of the world.

Interesting to see they are up to XJ plates now, I had XC plates (edit - obviously, with the photo right there).

My new Euro Plates arrived at the Warrandyte Post office this morning. As theyre Brand new in Victoria, my Set is "(V) AA". Obviously I got in pretty quick!

You'll have to get a photo up - I'd be interested to see what pictures they have instead of the NSW stuff (which from memory was the St George Cross and the Waratah).

Sorry i thought you were talking about something else when you pointed out the bar not matching the car fireman-sam...

Ive noticed that with silver or silver shaded cars alot, not just focii, thats why i dont like silver cars, because its easy to noticed dents or marks or mis-matched panels...The new focus does look good in any colour although.

when I was in Italy/France in April/May I noticed that everyones number plates were attached by rivets, not screws....not sure why this was, maybe so no-one could flog your plates easily?......now I bet those rivets make a nice mess of the front bar when you want to change your plates (or maybe you cant change your plates in Europe?)

In Italy I'd imagine it would be to kerb numberplate theft, and the subsequent use of stolen plates on getaway cars to commit crimes (becoming all too frequent in Italy these days!)

I have a new black focus Zetec with out any paint miss match problems that are shown on the silver one, But the painting of the vehicle is poor (dust spots in the clear coat & paint missed on the door sills on the body kit) Will be taking it back for the dealer to look at.
