Default I'm getting grumpy now.

It's now a month since a deal was made for a Zetec hatch and I cannot extract even an status on the order other than "the order has been placed" and a rather empty assurance that "its on a boat heading for Swanston dock".

Seriously, any Ford insiders out there who might have an idea what a reasonable waiting time for even a status of order might be? Shouldn't I have at the very least a status on the order by now? Anything...even "sheet metal being fabricated" would be nice.

They're saying the silver Zetec is a very popular color. I'm seriously thinking of picking another less popular color if it means getting a car faster. I like red Zetec too.

Driving me nuts. Everytime I spot a truck with a silver Zetec on it I'm thinking "thats gotta be mine" but alas no phone call from dealer.

I live in Melbourne and the dealer is Binks Ford.

Want car. Want car. Want car. Want car. Want car. Want car. Want car. Want car. Want car. : :

sux that, i had to wait about two weeks for my Fiesta. horrible waiting even that long.

I saw a new silver zetec hatch today ;) looked really nice, you got yourself a nice car (when it arrives)

On that note... does anyone know what the 0-100 times would be for the new focus?

Motor got a 8.98 seconds 0-100kmh, and 16.43 0-400m.

Ive seen a few of the new Focus around....

Yea, waiting time seems to be a bummer. My neighbour had a 21yo Magna... and was tossing between the Corolla and Focus.... after finding out that she couldnt get one soon, with her car on the way out... she now has a Corolla ing_sm

Well, today marks exactly the six-week mark since ordering my new Focus. And if my dealer didn't offer me the option of an LX Hatch on monday (as opposed to the CL sedan I was waiting for), I daresay I STILL wouldn't have an ETA at all.

This new car I'm signing up for apparently has an ETA of 1st Sept, so at best, I'll probably get it around 5-10th Sept. That'll make it about an 8 or 9 week wait. At least the extra weeks have given me a chance to save up the extra $$$ for the LX ;)

Ford are really pouring on the advertising and promotion of the new model, but IMHO they really should have sorted out their distribution etc first.

I've noticed that they have stopped the ads on tv and newspapers almost completely. No ads in Drive (The Age) or Cars Guide (HeraldSun) or any news paper, haven't seen the ads on tv either. Maybe trying to clear a back log of orders before showing them again.

Our mistake was not asking about the stock and getting a firm delivery estimate before the deal was done. The least they could've done was give and estimate before the deal was done. Thats a little sly imo.

Actually, I went in today to sign new paperwork for the LX - apparently the 1st Sept estimate was for the car to reach the dealership. So they said hopefully they would be able to get it ready in time for the 2nd or 3rd Sept. Here's hoping anyway - there's light at the end of the tunnel!

Hang in there! There's plenty of people waiting long periods, there are some very very overjoyed new Focus owners who've waited and received and are in love with their cars!! It's frustrating, but there's simply a huge demand right now! Speak to CDAA or shockwavexr6na

When I bought my TE50, I waited over 3 months......and it was being manufactured in Broadmeadows!!!!!!!!! (or is it Campbellfield??? I never know).

Even got to see it being worked on at the Tickford workshop, and it still took another month to get it.

But you soon forget that once it's delivered.

At least you know you are buying a popular, and therefore likely to be successful, model. Dealers can deliver dogs almost immediately!!!!

Yeh you will get it..

I think we were the luckiest considering we only had to wait about 3 weeks for ours, but in saying that we wanted a smooth pack and ended up with an optioned up CL..

You can get the cars alot quicker if your easy on colour I think, we wanted black and got it.

We waited 5 weeks for a BA Futura in 02 when they first came out coz we wanted side airbags and 17's, and i dare say the Futura's weren't all that popular it was just because we wanted this particular colour with options that we had to wait.

Just hang on if you can. The car's a pearler and worth the wait if you ask me. Admittedly my dealer kept me informed all the way and gave me a SIDO number atleast 3 weeks before it arrived so I could order some personalised number plates.
