Focus RS Rear wing Part number

In my everlasting quest for the Focus RS rear wing, I believe I have located the part number and will be visiting my local Ford Dealer tomorrow to get them to look up their system.

SPLR 4923 (And I think LR is for the model, it's just coincidence that SPLR is short for spoiler)

I believe may be the part we're after... if not I'll look again. I simply looked underneath the spoiler on one of the Zetec R's at work because I'm seriously considering getting one to complete the look of my car. :


If not, then so begins the quest to find the part number and source one easily through Ford. If not, there's always the following. Warning - it's pure automotive pornography. I've had trouble controlling myself for the last couple of hourse after not only seeing what I can get FROM FACTROY IN THE USA!!! But at their prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : : : : : : : :

My bad I thought you meant ordered through Ford Australia in Australia. Clearly anything's possible if you order from overseas and import it yourself, you can even import a Ford GT if you can afford it and really really want one. Sorry mate, I thought you meant buying them through a distributor here so you didn't have to organise shipping etc. I did actually state you could import them yourself. This still remains the case. I'm just stunned by the prices that you'd get half that stuff including shipping cheaper than AYNWHERE here, like the K&N filter 39.95 USD before postage?!?!!!!!!!!!!.

It's always feasible to get them, the issue is importing them. There is one place I know of that imports FRPP stuff and its in QLD, their details are on the FRPP site. Otherwise youd have to do the currency conversions and arrange shipping etc yourself.Major PITA.

hehe... i did mean ordering through Ford Australia. I figured they would come in on some some big order. Assuming Ford Australia was already getting parts from the US.

Not all places in the US ship internationally anyway, making it very frustrating when I do find something that I like.

Look sweetheart don't whinge to me about it, doesn't bother me what your car looks like. If you want to get off your bum and buy them then do so, but don't cut me down for telling you how it is. Fact is they are not available from factory in Australia, they are available through some of your own hard work by arranging purchase and import through tme if they will allow. So you can thank me for nothing if you indeed do nothing.

I'm fired up for the Focus tonight after watching Tim's video!! Matt's right, but from memory there is one large dealership in Brisbane that can order FRPP Parts for you. Then there is the other place which I said was listed on the FRPP website.

But it's not possible to walk into your nearest dealer and ask them to order the bits for you - they can't access them unless they are parts for a specific model sourced from the United States.

I'd imagine the fair system over there works as it does here though in that they're not factory warranted, however since they realise everyone does it they decide to be smart and retail the parts themselves, at least that way they can not only make money potentially, but keep at the forefront of the enthusiast's minds! I know I'd be stunned if I could walz into a Dealeship and buy a Supercharged Zetec with ST170 suspension, RS 18" alloys, RS Rear wing, RS steering wheel and all sorts of other bolt on goodies all for reasonable prices from Ford. Amazing.

The Ford Racing website has always been a source of inspiration when looking for Focus parts.

As mentioned in another post ST170 headers are $700+ (cant recall exact figure) here. Then add the flex pipe and catalytic converters.

SVT headers shown here for $299US which converts to $388.882AUD is an awesome saving. Just need reasonable shipping costs and hope you dont get slugged for import taxes when it arrives and then it is certainly an option worth looking into. A panel filter is one thing, can almost fit inside a large envelope. Headers would be a different story.

I would be interested to see the price from the QLD Ford Dealer and how it compares, in particular if they are often receiving large shipments of parts. back2thefutura - can you please forward me contact details

Thats exactly the problem though. One Fiesta owner ordered in some parts from the UK, freight cost alot and then customs held the items until tax was paid on them, even though they were a small quantity. Also they only hold them for a few weeks after notifying you of your tax bill, and if you dont pay up, they send the items back at your cost. A bargain suddenly isn't so cheap anymore.

I agree about the panel filter, you could probably slip that thru easily enough.

I assume you mean cheapest factory Ford mags, you can get aftermarket ones cheaper. But again, the same thing applies with transport (I priced it up on a set of rims, its insane) and then import tax.

I'd like alot of this stuff as much as the next person, and if Ford Aus imported a bunch of this stuff to sell thru dealerships spare parts (shipped it en masse to reduce freighting costs) it would be more financially viable. I'll take one crate engine supercharged modular V8 please! But I assume the market just isn't there to make it worthwhile for them.

incorrect guys, freight is shipped on a manifest and all cargo is screened on entry (even normal mail is screened)...if you tried to pull a dodgy Customs would still be able to pull it up....however in saying that the $$$ value of the K&N would still mean that it would pass without incurring any duties or taxes. (see www.customs.gov.au for more info on importing)

Also, I have a contact in a freight company who can get stuff sent cheaper through their company but trust me the cost will still scare the pants off you as they calculate shiiping by either the more expesnsive of physical weight or cubic size (irrelevant of weight). So for example you could order a front bar in that weighs only 10KG but when boxed it cubes out to 20, you will be charged at the rate for 20...not the 10KG....

Customs laws have changed recently, you are allowed to bring in up to $1000 duty free, it was increased from $400. You would be very unlucky to be charged by customs unless you were bringing in multiple new items that made you look like a reseller.
I import parts in reguarly, over the last 18 months on more than a 130 transaction I have only had to pay GST once & no duty was charged because of the parts I bought in

The figure i was quoted was $770 and thats at mates rates. Retail for them is over $800, as you said that doesnt include flex pipe or new cat, both of which you need to fit them.

From memory the dealer in Brisbane who could get them was Metro Ford. I sent them an email enquiring about getting some parts but never heard back from them.

Tim, re the rims - yeah I meant cheapest Factory rims ive seen in a long time. And to be honest I think they look better than most aftermarket ones ive seen. Big call I know, its just personal preference though.

$255 plus GST = $280.50 incl RRP.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm ordering one tomorrow most probably.I also ordered the intermittent wiper switch, thank God for tax returns!!! That retails for around $75 I think from memory.

Matt is this the RS/zetec R wing we're talking about here? Coz if it is, i picked mine up for $220 (incl GST) and yes, its exactly the same as the ones fitted to the Zetec R.

If shipping to Vic/NSW would work out cheaper than $280, gimme a yell and ill see about getting you in touch with this guy at Stripe Master.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was implying, the item value is low enough that you wouldn't get pulled up on it.

I didn't know the duty free limit has risen to $1,000 though...

What does the Intermittent wiper switch do?

Intermittent wiper switch is basically the Ghia's intermittent wiper stalk, plugs into the socket when you remove the whole indicator from the current one. It adds 6 variable speeds via a rotational button for the intermittent delays on your windscreen. I find when it rains it rains so little these days that even the normal intermittent delay is too fast!!!!! Amazing how many itmes in the last week I'd have used it. You watch. It won't rain for a month now!!!

duty free concession
