take it back. show him the plate that says it has got a MOMO and then get him to ring a Ford dealer and confirm. demand that it is replaced at their cost. also mention things like consumer affairs, fraud (technically it is) and the likes.
if he doesnt want to know about it then take it to consumer affairs and LEAVE THE CAR AT THE PLACE YOU GOT IT FROM.
also, you should have the factory handbook in the car? if you do it should tell you the last owner. get in touch with them and find out if they sold it with the MOMO and if they did then see if they will come down and tell the dealer that. this could help.

What you should've done is not take delivery of the car, nor should you have paid for it. The fact that you did both means that your excitement got the better of you (and who can blame you), but I don't really think you have a leg to stand on, now that you have the car and he has the Momo.

true but part of the cost paid for the car would have been for the MOMO. the dealer would have added some extra cost on because of that. you are essentially paying for something you havent got.

Was it a dealer or private sale? If a dealer there's a chance there would be pics of the car somewhere. It may even be a police matter if you regard as theft... was the momo on the car when you paid for it and dissapeared after... then it's theft. If private sale will be harder however I'd pursue the same way.
