My opinion, Leave HOTDBZ where it is. He, and his car deserves the spot it has now. The simple solution is for Dan to get some new photos and be a regular member. If he so decides to be a donating member, that's he's choice.

In short, leave things as they are. New photos by Dan as a regular or DM. Can't get any more simpler than that!

edit: Oh, with Mal's current spot, just put EX- in front of HOTDBZ.

I would have bought it if I could have justified having 3 XR's in my garage (oh and the spare ca$h would have helped sweeten the deal , I tried to tell Mal I would hook him up with some imported beers for the car, wasn't into it for some reason.)

.. Like Casper said HOTDBZ is a founding member thats cool, Really don't see what the drama is.

In the end does it really matter if someone else put the wrench work in?

If ya want to donate Dan do it then become a member of AuFalcon.com. Its :

Well its not like Mal did the work to the car, various performance & other car related shops did the work, just the honest truth.

Very true. Mals a great guy and the car is fantastic but he's the first to admit the most he actually did on it is sign the invoices.

Agreed. If the owner is the one who did all the work it wouldnt be Mal's car either and ford would rightfully own a lot of the cars on here! _

I wouldnt keep on saying yeah but I did all the work to whoever I sell the EB too. It shouldnt be any different in this case.

I think I was smart buying a car that is practically finished! I have wasted so much money on cars to only sell them for a fraction of what I have paid. This is what happens when you mod cars. I was very lucky to come across Mal's car.

It was practically what I was aiming for in the future, I was going to buy a series 3 ghia and transfer all my turbo gear over. But buying this means all the work has been done already. :

yer but mal had the idea, he had the original car, and put the money in. so as far as i see, its mals creation and Dan should be ashamed for buying it. But im just jelouse after i had a ride in it. Made my car feel like a Barina :(

Its like an animal, she belongs to Dan now. So we should be happy for Dan to own it, but at the same time praise Mal for building it. Dunno how this helps the topic at all.

Please tell me that was MAJOR tongue in cheek?
I think Dans the perfect person for it. Hes got the right attitude, has done a turbo car himself prior and I know its getting more love and attention than any person should give to a car and not need therapy! j/k

Consider him banned Dan :evil_laug

Nah, I know steve was messing around from previous threads, hes just upset cause we knew his car was going to be nailed before he did :

I should ban him anyhow cause I still have his model BA here that he promised to get about 6 months ago (ok, I forgot to take to dyno day too).

Only 6 rwkw ahead but a whole .80 of a second

That exhaust should help you out though. We are so going to calder once the car is engineered!

Casper and Dan, what do you guys think of my idea in my post above as to sort this mess out? I'll quote it again if you guys missed it.

Sorry, I should say that I've come up with an end result now... so all pointless posts are now welcome, even Nebs has been restored.

The end result is Dan will go to the members section like everyone else. Donating member statue will be up to him, not a big deal to me. Dan will need to supply all new photos.

Mals car and name will be left on the "founders page" with a "Car is sold" disclaimer. As other founders eventually move on from the AU (as they will) then they will have "Car is sold" put on to their car but remain on the site.

That should satisfy everyone I think.
