The stacker wouldn't happen to be an FM modulated one then if it isn't the standard one?

Though in saying that, my S1 has the EXACT setup of yours, but the stacker is infact Clarion. I'll pull it apart tomorrow for you to see what the go is if you like.

Its an alpine stacker in my boot but its not the factory one, from what has been mentioned its not in the factory position either. Its attached to the bottom the parcel shelf on the left hand side. I dont have a factory sub either, should I if its premium sound?

Cheers guys
dan

my fairlane has the premium stereo (has it written on the headunit it self and is ticked as an option in the book that was in the glove box..

there is splits up front (little grilles in the A pillar and obviously very high notes commin from the area LOL)

there is a rather small sub (8" or 10" in the rear shelf (pioneer/ford branded)
right in the middle between the rear speakers. with the same size grille above it tho (rather strange but there is a bulge in the carpet so the sub doesnt hit it)

the standard stacker is mounted on the right side mounted upright behind the carpeted trim panel with an access flat above it
and behind that mounted to what seems an outer frame of the boot 1/4 panel is what seems to be an amp with RCA cables runnin into the top of it

ill get pics wen i get a chance

hope this helps

I suppose I better change the owners name.

Dan, what name do you want on aufalcon.com?

Sorry for sidetracking your thread with the pics.

Getting back on track, if you wanted to replace the HU, I think this is a good 2DIN one.

That unit is awesome! But its $3200 here :(

Im starting to like the idea of a carputer setup. Once the car is engineered I would love to be able to display all the haltech guages on a screen and have it always there for datalogging.

Ill have to get a touchscreen setup for it though. I should be able to get a pretty good setup for about $1000 that will use my old CD player and have an in dash touch screen with the PC under the seat or in the boot for when I want to play DVD's and things like that.

I had a look at that one, I mainly wanna keep my system Kenwood, but the price, and I'd assume it's in USD$, far out.

i took some pics.. but the quality isnt good as a digicam doesnt have hte best focus i spose..

i have to resize them but they will be up soon

also in the last few days i tried installing my subs and amp from my previous car..
the amp is a cadence monoblock 750wRMS amp with RCA ins and outs..
so i ran the standard RCAs that go from the headunit to the standard amp into the cadence amp.. then got some other RCAs to go from the outs on the amp into the standard amp to power the rear speakers and the sub..

when i did this NO sound came out of either the subs nor the standard rears or standard sub..

it appears that either
A).. my amp is stuffed(was working PERFECTLY in the previous car and has been sitting in 1 place under a sheet for about 3 weeks...
or
B) the standard amp and RCAs are running in some wierd setup...
as when you remove the RCA labeled LEFT the sub still goes and the left speaker stops and the right speaker stays going... but when you remove BOTH RCAs they all stop working.. and obviously visa versa for the right RCA...
it is very strange..
i think i am going to have to install my aftermarket unit and see how we go..

He had to leave to go overseas for a new job.

It drives awesome! My last car ran mid 13's, this one is way faster. Drive like a stocker if your easy on it then it comes alive when you stick the boot in. Its only running 10psi at the moment too, its built for 20. I cant wait to turn it up and hit the track.

Hmm tried to read a bit but 160 pages might take a bit too long.

So how much was spent on it in the end?

Oh my god I still can't beleive that I've run into the guy who snapped it up. You have no idea how irate I was when I found out it got sold!! : Spewing!

haha I get that a lot.

He spent heaps. Way more than what it was advertised for anyway. The braking system alone cost $7000, add 19's, all genuine ford TS50 and pursuit ute bodykit, custom leather interior, the turbo retails for $3500 alone then add the haltech, all the cooler work, big fuel system, forged internals, head work custom cam and all the rest. He asked me not to say how much the engine setup and things cost.

Lets just say Im a happy camper
