Default Engine Warning 2012 Focus 1.6 Duratec

Hello All, we have a Focus 2012, 1.6 litre Duratec (the sticker on the door says Duratec, but the manual specifies that the 1.6 is a Sigma, so I'm really confused????). Regardless, the engine warning light keeps coming on and the car goes into limp mode and after a few trips to the mechanics, it's still happening. We live pretty remote and to take to a Ford dealer is just not an option.

129,000 kms - could it be timing belt/chain? (I can't even find out which one it has). Any advice very much appreciated.

Get an ODB reader and find out what fault codes it's putting out.

The Bluetooth versions are good and you can read the codes using the Torque app.
