Never had one go hard in the microwave before, usually gets a bit soggy so I stick it in a hot oven for 5 mins to crisp up a bit...

Cooking it too long?

I do what DoreSlamR does too. Cook it enough for it to just melt then chuck in a hot oven for 10mins or so (have to check it obviously!)

when you're heating stuff in the microwave if you bang a cup of water in there with it, it stops stuff going dry, say your roast beef etc. and possibly your pie, although mine go soggy not hard.

and if you're drying your shirt put it on defrost as then it won't get hot spots and burn..... hard to look professional on the job with burn holes in your shirt.....we live and learn

Have the oven on 120 degrees preheated and warm the pie the rest of the way,it will cook the pastry more evenly and you wont end up with a sao biscuit for a base.

Can't beat a freshly microwaved pair of jocks on a cold winters morning.

Not that I would know.

Depends on your microwave. 1000w, 1 1/2 mins on high, flip over and do 2mins, then 180c oven for 10mins. Also if you heat it too much it removes any moisture, so as soon as the pie cools the pastry becomes a rock. I am a wierd person and hate boiling hot pies, mine get 15mins in the fridge after cooking, so I can pick it up and eat it without losing the skin from my mouth.
