Default Members in Alice Springs ?

I believe that there are a couple of members in here that live in The Alice.

Care to own up, We'll be spending Saturday there and I'd like to ask a couple of l 'things to do' questions that aren't on the tourist sites.

Already found the answer to one.........how far out of town is the Transport Hall of Fame.

But do they have Aboriginal street artists in the town centre, I know there's art dealers there but I'm cheap.

After spending a week at Arlparra I found out on the way back to town today that there's a couple of artists there

I was going suggest the hall of fame - good choice! Easy to get to - just head south and follow the signs.

With the artists - try the grassed area half way up the Todd Mall, they'll often be there sitting with all the paintings on offer laid out on the grass. If you're still in town on Sunday morning, the markets are on in the Todd Mall and they're almost guaranteed to sitting on the grass selling their paintings. If you're stuck, sometimes you'll see some walking around carrying paintings or an even longer shot is in the hospital on Gap Rd near the cafeteria (Margaret Scobie sometimes does that spot - she's well known for her Papunya bush medicine style).

Enjoy!

Did the Transport Hall of fame, off season is great, we were the only ones there

And picked up what I thought was a bargain from this lady on the mall for $180.
I'd hate to think what I would have paid in a dealers and how much she would have got out of it.

As for artists, did they ever restore the Panorama Guth exhibition?

Went to the Alice on a Uni trip and recall the gallery and even have a print signed by (Henk???) Guth himself.

Heard it was damaged by fire several years ago :(

Would love to do a road trip out that way again!

Never heard of it until I just Googled it.

It hasn't been restored, I can't even think what's in that building at the moment.
