Unhappy Help !! Possible Online Fraud !!!!

we have just booked some accommodation . online after a phone conversation. we were given a choice of 3 apartments to rent for a week on the gold coast all owned by the same holiday company . owner.
we sent a deposit online . and received an E'MAIL . thanking us for the booking for a 1 bedroom apartment in a complete differant building . with conditons stating deposit non refundable . the offer by phone was for a 2 bedrrom 2 bathroom apartment in a differant building .
what do i do . the bank is closed untill tomorrow . will i be able toi cancel the deposit or is it immediately paid on a credit card ????
it was either a mistake , or very clever fraud . or i am a very stupid customer .

any advice taken . thanks has this happened to anyone else here .???

That happened to me. I book rooms all the time but I always make sure that it is a secured site like wotif. Contact the guy that sent you the email...or phone him. I am sure it will be ok

CONSUMER AFFAIRS my friend ... first call him and tell him this, and if he doesn't rectify his problem, call consumers ;)

maybe if you are lucky it could have just been a simple mistake in the email.

i would ring the company as so as possible, even try tonight, they may have a machine you can leave a message on or if they are a large resort they might have a night person.

Always use a credit card, if it was a scam, then you can dispute the transaction.
