Default New OPEN to all MAKES and Model Forums

Guys & Gals HI,

A few mates and I have created an OPEN to all makes and models website, for the car nuts among us. This is something hopefully a little different to the whole ONE brand offering from the likes of AFF and LS1 and the others along the way, obviously we are putting out a calling to any who would be interested in checking this out and possibly contributing to the site, (we really would love to see some more Blue Ovals on there). Currently we are overrun with the Generals. Also whilst we are at it, do people currently know of any other all make forums and car nut websites. I would really love some honesty feedback and constructive comments.

Ours is located at www.ausrevs.com

Before I am spammed for this as well, I have sought and been granted permission from the appropriate admins to post this.

OH and a big thanks to Gary for his honest and open feedback regarding my request. I really appreciate that.

I have heard of this site.

About time there was an open club. We will always linger around our chosen makes / models forums.

but...

On the road for cruising etc who cares what car you drive. It just looks good to have all the polished up cars in one area.

Also the site seems to have a lot of non car related social activities being talked about. Looking forward to see how they progress.

Cheers

Sam

Yeah I think its a problem with XMB Forums and spaces in your user name...Please try with _ (underscores).

I tried to sign up with The Monty but it said it was reserved as well. So I signed up as Fordy, as my last name is Ford.

Some feedback:

Guests (and non signed in members) need to see SOMETHING other than just "You need to be signed in".. when I see a forum like that I don't bother signing in as it's effort at a risk of it being crap inside :P

Good idea is to make the forums viewable but then you cant click in to them so at least you can see what forum-sections are available and the postcount on each one to see how active it is etc.

Just my 2c.

Thanks very much for the feedback...will look at ways to make it viewable with any luck sometime tonight.

its a great idea, theres not too many all model forums about

just a few suggestions/comments...

there seems to be afew minor naming problems, ie if the sites called ausrevs, why is there Loops and Bounds up top
and down the bottom its referenced as The Compound.
also why isnt the site located under AUSrevs.com.....i suggest you change to this as soon as possible, as it would give it a more proffessional feel (kinda like fordforums.com.au) that you would need if you wanted it to grow....

the sooner you change these little things the better, becuase it could confuse and turn a number of people off

Simple we built the website in about 4 hours and it was a test platform, it sort of has hung around, we are in the process of nutting out the new Logo's and design, we have a couple of designers actually working on it as we speak.

Again test/beta platform - for about 3 days we were going to call the forum "The Compound"

Its on a redirect at the moment, we got messed around a little bit and need to upgrade our portal which takes a little bit of time, so rather than just shut it down when we already had 120+ members we took the call to redirect it to another domain we own. [/QUOTE]

Obviously all involved also work full time jobs, and lucky/unlucky it has taken off ALOT quicker than we had planned, which is awesome. Most of the things you have listed (and I honestly really do appreciate the feedback) we have got on the Radar to fix. There will be a totally new look and feel about the place very shortly.

I must say a HUGE thanks to all at AFF that have taken the time to have a look and comment, I am so looking forward to our first Cruise, and hope to see just about every make and model of car all talking and most importantly enjoying each others rides.

I've joined. It seems like a good idea.
I just hope you guys keep the trolls under control.

Also is there anyway of getting the text a bit bigger as I've become use to the AFF size?
