Default SVO vs Ripshifter shifters

hey everyone,

Was exchanging pm's with LG earlier.. svo shifter vs ripshifter for the T5, what you guys would choose, what you have, why, pros, cons, anything really..
basically a curiosity question.
Svo is cheaper, and is said to do the same thing, why go Ripshifter?

anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks,
Matt

Can't say I've used either, although I keep hearing good stuff on the Rip Shifter.

I went a Mal Wood one and I can't say that it's that much different.

SVO one comes with warranty. And is local for me in Melbourne. Being Mick Webb, I think he knows what he's on about. Also have spoken to a T5 owner who rates it.

I'm guessing the RIP Shifter would come with a warranty too. RIP Shifters are out of stock at the moment, so if they don't get any soon, I'll definately be going the SVO one.

Not sure at the moment. I think i'll just go the SVO one, no matter what.

The SVO Shifter, has the spring loaded, (like the RIP shifter), so 2-3 is practically straight. But with both shifters (I guess), over time, the metal spring will become a bit loose, and not spring as much as it first would. The RIP Shifter is probably better designed than the SVO..

I suppose it's the same with exhausts. Theres a redback, lukey, herrod, jmm, but they're all pretty much the same thing.

Where is there an agent for RIP Shifter in Melbourne? Instead of paying for postage from NSW.

Herrod SureShift - ~$550
RIP Shifter - ~$500
SVO Shifter - ~$425
Billet Shifter - ~$400

I need mine, fairly soon, so I think i will get the SVO one.

Thanks

I think Aussie Car Enhancements are dealers for this shifter & they are forum sponsors. Have a chat to them about it. Either way good luck with it.

I have thanks. The reason i was asking, was because if they are made in Melbourne, there's no real point in me getting them from a supplier (Aussie Car) in NSW, as i live in Melb.

Anyway, I need one by the end of January/early February.
