Holy smokes dude I reckon we raced at the track together cos I have a old pic of your car,the old Strip rat and the Horse power Haven ute and Warren Applebees UC Hatch (my favorite street/race car ever I reckon). That UC would run 9.9 Super Gas at the creek thru mufflers and drive home after a days racing.

I'll see if I can scan and upload some pics at the strip. We did this on the way home once as the races were called off due to high winds...

Well I use to dial in @ 8.6 and the Mazda chewed me...LOL That little 2v combo got down and ate hwy miles but wasn't quick enough. The 4V combo was a 11.8 @ 118mph (wheel spin from old McCrearys) at the Creek combo that was beaten by a red manually shifted Torana from the ACT in the 2nd final race...not happy.Damn Canberra cars...LOL

Still happy times...

Better late than never. I only have these 21. I got them from someone I know back in the late 80's early 90's, so I don't know any details on any of the cars.

Some great shots there Bucknaked, all are from before the track upgrade when the track ran downhill. Good to see some old pics are still around

haha probably my mate, used to haunt the Canberra strip with a 600hp 355 stroker LX SS Hatch and a LJ XU1 with a 186 that revved to 8 grand and a supra box :P. I'll see if he has some of his old pics

I was out there a few years back. I can only imagine the good times had at that track. Such a shame to see it in an abandoned rundown state. If only they had redeveloped the site. It's a great location.

Some great shots guys. Loved seeing shots of the really old strip (section of previous highway). I spent some pretty happy times there getting high on tyre smoke.

Hey Bucky, you didn't happen to be there the day Gino Rosso's XC kept spitting tailshafts, and Pete Pulford had to show him how to drive it?

I actually have never been out there when the track was open. Only once it was closed.
