Door sound deadener

I've replaced all my door cards on a MB Zetec with Titanium spec door cards. I noticed the plastic foam/formed sound proofing on all of them. However if you're talking about the external door skin (steel panel) I noticed no sound proofing in the internal area.

I changed mine as then foam backing on the fabric had deteriorated and it was annoying me. Now have pleather with chrome accents that are so much nicer to touch/feel and look at. Shame the trim near the front passenger airbag (on the dash) is still the older type.

Far more durable with kids too...
