Default Why do you drive a FORD??

There was a chicken and a horse playing together in a barnyard.

Suddenly, the horse falls into a pit. He yells to the chicken "Go get the farmer, save me, save me!!!"

The chicken goes looking for the farmer but can't find him. So she gets the farmer's Commodore and drives it over to the mud pit, lassoes the horse, ties it to the car and pulls him out.

The horse says, "Thank you, Thank you I owe you my life..."

Then a couple days later they're playing again and this time the chicken
falls into the mud pit and the chicken says, "Help me Help me!!! Go get the farmer!!!"

So the horse says, "No No No. I think I can get you."
The horse stretches across the mud pit and tells the chicken, "Grab onto my dick."
The chicken grabs on, the horse stretches back, and saves the chickens' life.

So what's the moral of the story?

The moral is:

If you have a dick the size of a horse then you don't need a Commodore to pick up chicks!

That explains why I drive a FORD!!!

i drive my FORD purely cause they are better than any other car that i could afford at the time of purchase.. i honestly dont think the car you drive lets you pick up chicks...unless they are .. those type but all the picking up is done in the clubs and no cars are allowed in there are they.

Because you are never late with a 308, but it is a lot more fun with a 351!

Because my family was brought up with Fords. I'd quite easily jump camp if I won a decent Holden or was given one.
Wouldn't go out looking to buy one though.

Beacause the commodore ute just doesnt stack up against a hot XR8 Ute!!!

The fords leave them for dead, biger tray area, deeper tray area, better for towing, more room in the front for stuff behind the seats, more leg room and lets face it, that bonnet bulge is awesome And of course, they just LOOK gutsy!! The commy utes just look like little princesses next to them.

Why i drive a Ford? Coz i like them.

I am going to buy a Holden next time just for a change tho, probarly a VE Calais V but thats a fair while away. People will say why, my answer is that ive never had one and want to see what they are really like, and yes it will be a 6.0L and I will more then likely keep the Territory.

My dad had Fords, holdens, ramblers, rovers, honda's, peugeots and nissans. But he always used to say the best cars he had were a 67 fairmont 289 and a 69 fairlane 351. He said that they had the ford "feel", they were smooth, powerful and comfortable, reliable and good looking. I never really took his words to heart because, well... I was a dedicated holden/GM man at the time, and I was hard at work trying to make my 308 WB ute a world beater. I sold the ute with the intention of flying to the states, buying a 69 Z28 302 camaro and bringing it back and becoming the king of the (local) street. I flew to L.A and figured out pretty quickly that this wasn't gonna happen because any good 69 camaro was 15-20 grand(heaps more than I had) I took off around the states looking for a car and passed up on many other good machinesthat weren't 69 camaro's (kicking myself now). Anyway after quite an entertaining journey (too much happened in 6 months too talk about here) I ended up in Whistler Canada working on cars in a workshop. This car came in one day, a 67 mercury cougar, with 60k miles. It was mint. I did the shackle bushes and fixed the blinkers and took it for a drive. It was super smooth and effortless too drive, really comfortable, handled well(for that era) and looked great.
It had the ford "feel"
I finally understood what my old man had been on about.
And I've been a Ford convert ever scince....

I wanted a muscle car from the 70's, certainly with big rear tyres, throaty exhaust and not that keen to have lots of passengers.

Was never in to cars, still no expert. But I do know that no Ford really made me want to own it or gave me any desire to own one, I basically just didn't like them (except the E-series -> but I was only starting to get in to cars around the early AU's so these were the basis of my first real Ford experience). Basically - I didn't grow up with the 'GTHO' history etc, I was to late for that (born to late), and I'm still upset I didn't get in to cars earlier.

So around the late 90's early 00's I was more intereted in Magna VR-X's and stuff... And I drove all the performance Fords (XR's etc) on the weekends, so it wasn't like I didn't get exposed enough. I still prefered my mates Magna sports to anything I drove with the blue oval badge.

AUIII TE50 & BA changed all that. Drove the XR6T's and GT's as soon as they hit the dealership. I knew from that minute I wanted a BA. I'm not going to say I'm a die hard Ford fan. I love Fords and follow them in the V8 supercars. But if Ford build a bad Falcon (or one that doesn't make me want to own it) I won't buy it just because it's a Ford. Although, I don't see that happening any time soon, and I'm looking forward to the Orion Fairmont Ghia

I'm not someone who switches 'alliance' or anything. If I didn't own a Ford, I'd still support them in V8's, still follow their development progress, and I'll never ever buy a Holden. I just wouldn't only buy the car for the badge (not saying anyone here has! Just explaining my point of view)

Ford family if you like. Never had a taste for Holden. Thinking about branching outside the Ford stable for next daily in a couple of years. Tried to do it last time we changed things around. Not an easy task.

Looked at getting an E-Series a while ago but didnt. Had always been a holden man (when i was upgrading Sept last year) liked the look of the BA XR6 compared to VY Commodore S or VZ SV6 the deal I got on the BA was a too good to walk away from & it drove beautifully so now im more open minded. Re Fords V Holdens my folks always had Holdens & the family HQ the old man but from new was an awesome car when we sold it 20 years on it had never skipped a beat. My VH SLE V8 Full House that I was the second owner. The orginal owner bought it from John H Ellers (now Hamilton Holden) & always had it serviced there. It was still one of the my favorite cars ive owned. The interior was so plush. Full electrics V8 torque & power & the sweetest note. Had dual fuel & extractors & dark tinted windows & pedders sway bars & previos owner also had Engine rebuilt to mild specs by Keith Litchfield Engineering when I bought it & owner had it repainted from new (it was white) all i did was lower it & put a 2 1/2 system on it & nice Pioneer CD system. It was such a nice car to drive & for a 1982 car it had the works. I know they are getting a little long in the tooth now but I still love it & if I still had it I will love to pull it out of the shed every Sunday for a drive just to hear its sweet note.

I drive a Ford as I wanted a Luxury 6cyl that which was less than 2 years old at the time

Compare the interior on a Calias and a Fairmont

The Calais interior looks like its been made out of LEGO, So I bought a Fairmont...............

More bang for your buck with ford.
Technologically superior
Better driver feel
Better reliability
Better Paint
Better Interiors
Driving Dynamics
Service
Piston Slap and other problems with a 2000 Caprice, and the crappiest service known to man that inspired a Supreme Court motion against Holden resulting in an overdue refund.

The list is endless, and I could go on much further. But by far the most important reason, they don't have the "bogan" or "shacka" appeal that Holden do.

For some reason I always support the underdog. Ford are the underdog and always have been here in SA anyway. I went to school near the Holden plant, even worked there for a few years before furthering my study. I was one blue boy in a world of red and wouldn't have it any other way. Seriously, I have no idea other than I just love most of the Ford's that I have owned. The whole Holden and Ford thing is just a bit of fun and something to get passionate about.

Truth be known, I like many Holdens to, it's normally just the 'stereo typical' followers that I don't like.

I know how you feel about being in a sea of Red, Everyone at work (except my mate in a sic AU XR6) drives holdens, our company cars are sv6. Ive been in most of their cars (adventura, statesmans, even an old vn hahaha) and i would not swap any of them for the blue oval.

I got a Ford because i grew up around them, my dad, uncles and all that had Fords.

I like a bit of variety, meaning i have interest in some Holdens, mainly ones of the same era as mine ef-vr, vs.
And i always back up the Fords in the V8 series cos the Holden drivers are so up themselves ie murph, Rick Kelly, skaife
And i love sticking it to my Holden mates!!!!!
Love giving my mates VN a run, i always win!!! lol

I drive the BA XR8 because its an iconic car that I will never forget. It looks great, sounds amazing, and isn't too slow either.

I drive my XB GT because its a classic. If I've got to explain you just don't get it.

I drive my EF 4.0 because its a cheap ****ter that I can mod the crap out of an not care if I blow something up because its cheap to fix.

I drive my 351C equipped 1969 XT ute because I love wheelspin...
