Default Ls Focus Airbox Question

Hi all I am going to replace my airbox with a pod filter, but I have one question, there is a black plastic pipe that is connected to the bottom of the airbox that goes to the back top right of the engine, What is this for and does it matter if it's not connected to anything at the other end (IE where it connects to the bottom of the airbox)??????

Cheers

It's the breather for the engine. Connected to the airfilter so any oil fumes are burnt. You can replace this with a little a little air cleaner when you get the pod.

Illegal to do, all part of emissions etc. If you go over the pits etc with one of those filters in instead of the hose, you won't pass rego.

oil breather and air pod need to be in a air box or needs to be out of sight.
I beleive that QLD will have these new laws as well, your car needs to be look at to pass rego.
This is why I still have all of my stock parts with me.
I know our hatch wouldn't pass at all...TeeHee

When I took my ST to have a 'Safety Cert', they didn't even lift the bonnet....and when I asked why not (as I watched from customers waiting lounge) they said "we could find the bonnet release".

Too funny...

I used a catch can for the rally car to get around this regulation. Perhaps that will work in this case too??
