Default Turbo Driver Looses control

Taken from the age, lets hope we do not see any more of these.

Oops wrong thread!!

A man is in a life-threatening condition after a car skidded across an intersection and struck a petrol bowser in Melbourne's south-east this morning.

Four men in a Ford Turbo were travelling north along Westall Road at 1.40am when the driver apparently lost control of the car, which went sideways across all lanes at the Princes Highway intersection.

It appears the car then hit a pole, flipped and struck a petrol bowser in a service station at the north-east corner of the intersection.

The bowser ignited but a nearby truck driver quickly put the fire out with an extinguisher.

A back-seat passenger was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition while a second passenger and the 24-year-old driver were also taken to hospital with injuries.

A third passenger fled the scene but police found him behind a bin in nearby Renver Road.

All four men are believed to be in their early-to-mid 20s.

Members from the Major Collision Investigation Unit will investigate.

It was a Ford VL Skyline Excel Turbo. Journalists are always particular in ensuring that the facts are accurate and never distort due to agenda.........

Happened just after midnight, no-one was trapped but it was a messy scene.

This happened around the same time when a car flipped on it's side in Clarinda and a car with person trapped happened in Moorabbin.

One would allege that this XR6 turbo was making pace down the 'track' between Wellington & Westall Roads, soutbound on Princes highway. Hope a lesson is learnt here.

Whos stupid enough to hide behind a bloody bin? Walk down some quiet streets slowly without looking suss and call someone to pick you up. I know he shouldnt have hid or ran, but unless he hit his head hard enough in the crash he wasnt thinking very well.

He probably crapped and p*ssed himself, and that's why he couldn't call anyone to pick him up.

Yep young men in there mid 20's. Anyone want to guess why this age group is being 'picked on' at the moment. There is only so much stupidity than can be legislated against.

Last weekend I watched a group of "young men in their 20s" attempting to maintain control a motor vehicle on a wet concrete surface.

I now understand why these new laws are being implemented.........

note they have to specify turbo to make it seem as though its a young person in a high performance car when not all turbo cars should be classified as performance car specially xr6t

Well, there are quite a few young blokes in highly modified XR6T's around Melbourne, so specifying that is quite right, this car was more or less likely a "performance car", given that is what it's marketed as.

Goes to show you don't become mature just because you turned 21 last week.

But it could have happened in any car, not just a performance car. Even a CFi 3 speed auto EA can lose control in the wet.

I don't think anyone is specifically isolating P Platers alone, the problem is widely known to exist with the 18-25 yo bracket, it just happens that P Platers make up a large part of that bracket.

another highly stereotypical bs article, you can't really comment at all on the situation as there is only four people who know the facts. last time I crashed my "Ford" there was a BS article written all about it
