Default accomodation and also saving costs

hi everyone

some or all of this may have been asked before but cant remember which post it was asked and before you ask yes am doing training to move on from hospitality to the side thing with better hours.

was wondering how you would save money on accommodation every time you want space of your own (cabins probably every few months at earliest are ok but costs add up when you want to book them more often just to have own space to go to).

will still book cabins every few months but as many of you know costs add up when you want to go there more, and sometimes you just want your own space but not move out permanent just yet because of being happy living in the current home.

every thursday and friday am doing volunteer work and usually stay at grandparents which live in same town at moment and just planning a alternative (if am still wanting to stay in same town) for when they go in preparation for what may happen in next couple years because of their age and no one knows what will happen in next couple years.

what would be quickest and easiest to setup in all weather other than van or teardrop (rain/no rain/cold) at the overnight camp site that doesn't cost too much until getting the van because time will be limited and dont want to be carrying all that gear in car and setting up and packing up.

some of you may or may not know that am wanting old car as soon as possible so vans got to wait however grandparents at their age will likely go before having the van.

have thought of a teardrop just to get by until having the van but obviously not spend more than really having to so theres more money for the van.

have also thought of a roll out awning on the work trailer and roll that out and attach tents to that.

have also thought of seeing if its possible to stay at the aunts if theyre still around atleast short to medium term (thats the grandparents sister in law and brother).

how would you stay warm when its cold or cool when its hot at a camp site overnight, what heater or aircon would you need.

what would be minimum gear youd need for overnight, have thought of following, can you lot think of anymore or would that get through for overnight.

* sleeping bag or sheets and rugs

* inflatable mattress and stretcher (wouldnt need those if having teardrop and van)

* pillow

* tent (wouldnt need that if having teardrop and van)

* car fridge to have things in (would a 15l one be ok for now)

* tv plus antenna and booster

* 12v setup

* butane cooker (if no gas cooker or camp kitchen)

* cooking gear (if having teardrop and then van the gear would be in that)

* usual clothes

* camp shower (if none at camp site)

* food

* 15 amp extension cable (where needed for 240v)

is there way to get assistance to pay for accomodation if doing it by choice for a night or whatever

thanks
