Default Testing the new Focus Titanium to win it

Hi everyone

I am lucky enough to have been driving around in the new Focus for the past week and I still have it for another 5 weeks. I am one of the Ford and Carsales testers. I have to review the car for 6 weeks and if my reviews get the most votes I win the car.

I have a top spec 2.0L Diesel Focus Titanium sedan. Has all the features like active park assist and is measuring up well so far. Take a look at my blog over the next few weeks and also have some videos to put up. Videos are a bit of fun, but if you would like some serious info or comments on the car let me know. See the blog and vote for me here:

http://bit.ly/focuswarren

Let me know what you want reviewed or if you have any questions about the car. I have to do another few tests.

Cheers,
Warren

Nice, good luck, these car is very import for Ford to get right here.

I will be interested to hear how much you use the park assist etc. Did you get a manual or auto?

Being a sedan it will be an auto. All sedan models (and diesels) appear to be auto according to the information I have seen.

@Polyal

Yeah I completely agree - very important car for Ford. I have never owned or driven a Ford before this one to be honest and I was quite unsure of what to expect. The new Focus really drives well and the build is impressive. Also surprised with the diesel - never been a fan but it is quite powerful and not much turbo lag.

The active park assist is a great feature. The only thing is that it feels so unnatural when you are in the car. You almost want to grab the wheel. The other down side is that if the car you are aligning to is parked badly, then your car will park badly - so a chance of hitting the kerb. But it is a great feature for those who avoid parallel parking because of confidence - this helps your turn in be more precise and will only allow you in if the spot is big enough. You still control the brake so you can take it as slow as you like.

I have the auto - new 6 speed which is quite smooth.

Cool, actually I guess it would have to be an auto for the self park feature anyway.

This one is actually built in Germany, which I was quite surprised about. And you can tell. Really feels like a solid car compared to the older models.

Basically we have to complete 6 reviews over the 6 weeks (started a week ago) and we have 10 themes to choose from, ie: Fuel efficiency, design, active park assist, keyless start etc.

Have to make videos and upload to the site here: http://bit.ly/focuswarren and then the public vote. Person with most votes on 12 August wins the car!

If you want to know more about the car let me know. Happy to post pics or any other info on the car since I have it for a few weeks still. Also if you vote you go into weekly draw for $750 fuel!

How about a video under the bonnet, since that's one of the things we love in here... Btw, I've voted for you already.

Sure will make one this week. I am not the most mechanically gifted person ever so not 100% sure on what to look out for but will give it a shot.

I have been surprised with the power to be honest. 120kw and since it is the diesel its turbo does wonders. Having to pay extra attention to the speed camera near my place.

No manual for the sedan? Cross it off the list.

Officially the 2.0L diesel can get 5.5L/100km but I am averaging more around 7L - probably because I am testing it and revving a little more than the average person...
