Default EA2BA gets another upgrade/change

Well after alot of planning and checking, I finally decided to install my EEC-V ecu. I now have passenger side full of wires and other control units needing to be cleaned up and hidden away.

For those who don't know, my car started out as an EA 3 speed auto, was changed to have a 4 speed gearbox and auto computer, and is now finally running an abbreviated smartlock setup and the EEC-V now runs the gearbox as well.

I still have to sort out thermo fan wiring, BBM switch wire (currently still using a frequency switch), knock sensor, and I think a few others.

Here is a pic of the current chaos

where did you get that bare EEC plug? i wanted to make my own EEC->EMS adapter and tried getting the plug end off a dead ECU, but it just couldnt unsolder all those pins enough, and when you cut the plug off the pins arent held in by anything and just fall out of the plug.

You are gutsy tackling that. Excellent job.

And here I was thinking that upgrading my AU1 suspension to AU2 spec with BA XR brakes was an achievement - merely a drop in the ocean compared to what you've done.

Wish I could fit BA XR brakes to the EA, but I guess the AU suspension can fit the EA so it's not that far fetched, hmmmmmmmmmm another project to put on the list

Cool. It would suck if there was a problem, and you had to sort through that to find it!

If there was a problem it can be all put back to EEC-IV very very quickly and no harm done.

Yeah I am nuts, but if I didn't do it, then probably no one would

Unfortunately, not even close. I looked into this a while back, because I wanted AUII stoppers on my turbo car. The AU setup is a lot different to E-series, and won't fit without a lot of cutting and shutting. So ghay.

Good work with the EEC V though! I'm sure I can hear OED666s brain ticking over from here..."hmm...EEC V would be pretty good in the ED...."

Did u see that thread on here about that guy that did it to his EL? Yes, going to the toilet is easier, it is a bit of work, but nothing too dramatic IIRC

You and Rollin are nuts, but if it wasnt for people like yourselves giving us all fantastic ideas, I dont know where we would be! BTW, do you have a wiring diagram for the EEC-V install.

I reckon it's easier than that. Pretty sure you can do it without having to cut and shut the rails. I'll give it a crack whenever I get around to taking the NC off the road.

ROFL!!!! That's got to be the funniest thing I've read on the forums for ages! My cheeks hurt from laughing!

I still say, AU into E-series, while possible, would be a freaking drama of epic proportions, at least to do it right. The ball joints are loaded differently, Z bars are different, LCAs are different...

If you worked your day job the same amount of time as you would work on getting the AU stuff in, you would easily earn enough money to buy a brake upgrade kit that bolts straight on I reckon.
