Default MB leaking headlight

With the cooler weather I've noticed some condensation inside the RH headlight lens. I removed the headlight assembly this morning and found a broken latch on the plug, no doubt from a recent visit to the panelbeater for repairs, and about 10 ml of water inside the headlight. The panel damage to the car was on the LH front, so the headlight should not have been affected.

I have drained the water and left it in the sun to dry, but cannot see any damage that would have let that amount of water in.

Anyone else had this problem?

Default Re: MB leaking headlight

It all became more interesting when I refitted the headlight. Whoever worked on the car had managed to push the male connector in the headlight into the housing so that the pins would not make contact. With the bulb cover off, I managed to seat the connectors, but they are not latched together as that's broken and I couldn't get the male connector to lock in place inside the housing.

Now I understand why there are 3 DTCs for the RH headlight and lighting module...

It should be an interesting discussion when I go to see them next week.
