But the T3 owner do appear to be apart of some sort of clique. You dont see many new guys buying them, they only really ever get bought by other T owners.
So you could argue the prices are artificially high?
Less of them, harder to find the options and colours you like etc..
There are XE ESP v8's selling for 20 - 30k.
Stacks more BAGT's out there. Lots more people willing to offload them for less coin. Not all are meticulously maintained either. Good examples are still fetching low to mid 20's.

Notice that the majority of people bagging my thoughts actually own these cars, funny that.

Of course every car is going to require some sort of maintenance over time but there is a difference between 'maintenance' and fixing something before it stuffs your engine requiring significant repairs.

Anyway to each their own.

Yes, but would have to agree with XR6 Martin. T3s are not really known about outside of their fanbase. Go up to a person on the street and ask them about a T3 - you will get a blank stare.

Just because a car has low build numbers, doesn't mean that its value soars (even though this is often the case).

T3s are unique in that they are not well known, but the small amount of people that are into them are willing to pay 'overs' for them. Nothing wrong with that. If you want something badly enough, you pay for it.

It's the same with any unique car. The number of times I had to explain to people what my old XE ESP was !

I just gave up and told people I drove a Falcon with a big phat V8 engine.

No more truer word spoken. They will continue to sell to other t series owners until the music stops.

Whilst the t3 is a very very nice car they are worth no more than the equivalent hsv club sport and not worth the value of a BA GT.

But let's not call the ba GT value at $16k. I never look at the cheapest worst example you can get. Look at the car you would buy yourself (the best example around). There are t series out there for well under $10k but would you buy it?

T3's have a stroked Windsor...therefor...

T3 > BA GT

#windsor4lyf.

In all serious though, the T3's low build numbers drives the price up, the fact that it was the last hurrah for the Windsor, and the only stroked version offered over the whole life in the falcon only adds to this. Own a T3 and you have a thoroughly unique Falcon (except for the kitted Fortes), bespoke engine, wildest kit on a falcon...

So we may own an FPV GT and have an opinion on the subject. Wow !

The list of issues is well known. Diff bushes , timing chain on BA1 , milk shake trans on BA , BF , FG.

We know about them , we fix them and we move on. The outlay overall is minimal for a car that gives back so much.

VW DSG gearbox anyone .

3k is not a lot of spondooly these days, well it is if you haven't got it I guess, but if your willing and handy with a spanner you could do it yourself pretty cheap I would imagine, shockers for my old lexus are over 4k, one bucket seat 4k, timing belt on some of these 4 cylanders are pretty pricey to do too,
once its done on the GT you shouldn't have to worry about it for years,
as for design flaw , the tensioners on the very nice and well respected Toyota 1uzfe v8 are changed every 100,000 ks with timing belt, water pump, leads ,distributor caps x 2..... not a cheap job either if your paying someone, GT is still a dirt cheap performance car imo.

This is my benchmark bare minimum BA GT. To get a decent one for $16k is ridiculous.

You don't get a decent BA XR8 for that money.

Well there's EB XR8's with over 300 000k's in bomb condition going for 5k. So it depends how you look at it. That is the price people want them to be worth or the price they actually are worth/sell for. I saw a mint ED XR6 for 9k 60 thousand k's, looked even newer than that, cleanest one I've ever seen I almost cried it was literally the cleanest one out there. I could see why he wanted 9k but no one would buy it for that price, funny thing is it's probably worth over 9k the car was practically brand new but it's still a 20yr old ED at the end of the day, although literally one of a kind that one in a million ED enthusiast would still resist the temptation 9k is too much of a loss on such a vehicle. No matter how bad you want it money talks. He might get lucky one day but it's so unrealistic.

I reckon the GT's will go as low as 6-8k over the next 10yrs maybe even less. if you want a collectors item I wouldn't even bother with one over 100 thousand k's, anything over is too much.

I like them too, but they were not tough. They could not pull the skin off a rice pudding. They just burned lots of fuel and made no power. They wouldn't see which way a new 4-cyl Ecoboost Falcon went in a straight line even if given a big head start. They were also significantly slower than Falcons from a decade earlier. Don't get me wrong, I like XD/E 351s, but they were embarrassingly slow and about as tough as playdough.
