didn't bother reading through all the pages but i ticked the 304 as well and was surprised at the amount of people that agree. that is a tough sounding v8 but since then its fords all the way. ls1's need a well tuned exhaust to get any sort of decent note. they run a different firing order which is why in stock form you have to actually ask sometimes 'is that an 8?'!!

every mag comparison i have read with v8 holden v ford, regardless of the outcome the journo's 9/10 times rate the ford a better sound than the holden.

Stock LS2 SS sounds like a tinny V6 at any rev.

The Boss has a great roar at anything above 2500rpm

Another vote for the Lexus. These things are brilliant.

Cheers

5.4L, but it has to have a lumpy cam to put the icing on the cake.

I really enjoy the sound of the Boss engine... but VY Clubsport's LS1 5.7l sounds good too..... and this is coming from an "asian" guy.

Hey guys i know this is an old thread and all but i had to post a link to this vid from top gear. Some of you may have already seen it, its of the Ford GT and GTX1, and man the GTX1 sounds prime!! I've watched it a few times just to see if it was an initial appeal that would wear off but i cant get over it. If you havent seen it its worth a look.

The Windsor with a nice twin system takes some beating, even though they are a bit asthmatic they sound fantastic as they gasp for more air :O

The Boss with an open system sounds good as well just a bit more refined in comparison.

Ive never driven a late model Fuel Injected V8.

Can you even hear the engine in the new bosses?

Does an aftermarket exaust help?

Maybe early 90's Windsor302 should win cos u can actually hear that car.
