Had those wheel nuts on my LT focus It is a chrome cap over a nut. not supposed to remove the chrome cap but they do come off if a rattle gun is used to take the nuts off.

so what are you supposed to do if you are changing tyre without a rattle gun, or on the side of the road?
Would you know if they can be pulled off with pliers, some YouTube vids do suggest this. May just go to a tyre shop. & get some new, better, nuts instead. |

The original wheel brace will fit over the covers. They can be a little tight if the wheel nuts have been abused. The less a rattle gun is used the better off they will be.

Went out and spent $60 on new nuts today, and had them fitted - better to be safe than sorry.
Sales guy at the tyre shop thought I was a nutter (pun intended), but the guy who swapped them over for me was well aware of the issue. Have kept a few to have a play around with to get the cover off, just out of curiosity. |

Why they need to over complicate something as simple as a wheel nut is beyond me!!!
