Default Sync update

Just got the update from 3.3 to 3.4, looks better but navigation is not working, and a few of the menu buttons are not active, no touch. Update was done over wifi

I just found the update yesterday. Did the update today and apparently like you there is a failure in the NAVIGATION! No maps. Not impressed - looks like a master reset coming up.

Update on Sync3 version 3.4. Drove the car several times today and didn't have maps. System said I had to contact Ford Dealer. Anyway, big surprise - after about 5 hours after the update, the maps have suddenly appeared on the system! Will monitor its operation over the next few days and see how it goes.

That’s exactly what happened to me

Drive the car and it all came back to life!

Weird

After the maps appeared, I tried to send the.xml file to Ford to indicate a successful install. It won't accept the .xml file and basically I can't send anything to Ford to indicate that the update has been done.

You need to do a master reset and the navigation will work again.

Wouldn't a Master Reset take you back to the original Sync3 that was installed on the car?

Well, second day with the new version 3.4.20136. Today I can't access the "General" settings. I could access them yesterday after the install but it's greyed out today - a real nuisance as I can't access any of those settings. Just mentioning this to advise those who are thing of installing and get any other people's experiences with this new version.

Start the car, you can only access it while running

Thanks for that - you are quite right. I tried just turning on the accessories without staring the engine and that seemed to work also. Under the old version of Sync3, you could access the "General" settings all the time.

No it wont, it will wipe out all your radio presets, phones, map history etc.

A few changes with this one, very quick connecting to my IPhone, and connecting to wifi spots. DAB radio is much deeper depth of sound. Speaking of sound, I think it’s even clearer all round very rich deeper sound. I haven’t changed any audio settings.
