Over the weekend I changed plugs (BPR6EFS-13), Leads (Eagle Eliminator), coils (MSD) and cam sync. Now for some reason, and maybe it's in my head, but my exhaust seems to have gotten a drone at highway speeds...
Is this even possible? I wouldn't have thought so. The car has standard extractors and cats, but I think has an aftermarket cat back (I've not seen an factory exhaust, so can't be 100% sure). On a side note, plug 5 is a real pain in the butt to get at. I assume this get worse with after market extractors?

cam sync - as in the cam that opens and closes the exhaust valves?
It's entirely possible.

Cam sync was squealing when cold, as is not unusual from what I've read on here. Unless the sync wasn't functioning at all, surely that wouldn't have an effect on the valves opening / closing. And yes, it was removed and installed with cylinder 1 at TDC and all lined up the same going in as it came out.
I should point out this is on the XR8 220 in case that wasn't clear.

Yes it is possible, you have just change components that effect how well the engine run's and its overall tune.
The drone being a result of now running better and smoother, aka more consistant firing of all cylinders.

While we are on the subject, does anyone have a pic of the factory cat back?

No you got the name right. It was the 6cylinder owner that was confused!
