Recently seen one in the newest issue of "Just Cars" Magazine for sale. (Pg. 97)

Details as follows:

Ford Cougar 2000, 2.5ltr V6 Auto, this car is unmarked, with only 113,xxx kms $ rego till 08/07. Power & economy (7.5ltr / 100km easy) Every option, suit enthusiast. Service history by Ford.

From what i've read fuel eco is more around 11L / 100?

BAHAHHAHA, yeh, on the highway! Normal day-to-day in an auto is about 12-13ltr/100km lol. highway i get 6.5-7.5 depends on weather, surface etc etc.

I think it is a clear case of supply and demand.

As far as the redbook valuations, just check out the car sales site in the research area and it is easy enough to find out.

I was tempted to start a new thread for this car... but here's one I found on Ebay for sale. I do remember seeing it on the TradingPost a long time ago, but it didn't have these 'special' rims on it when I saw it there, or the CUG-00R numberplates.

Have to say, the rims, mural and exhaust are certainly - different...

Is this one of those 'Let's say whats wrong with this car..'

Where do i begin...First of all, the driver needs to be shot.

Rims are too small, wrong colour.......well, just WRONG. And he paid $2500 for them LOL!!!
The milo tin of an exhaust should be taken back to autobarn.
The bodykit doesn't flow with the shape of the car.
The skull is a waste of a paint job.

And finally, where is the tyre shine????? If you're gonna take photos of a car, at least make the tyres shinny to at least take the focus of those god forsaken ugly "Custom Billet ROH Chicanes" *shudders*

and here is another rare vehicle, the mondeo he st24, has the same engine as the cougar, just the four door platform. Wonderful vehicle. This would be the one I would like...

Agreed - awesome car! While I was looking at getting Cougar's, my brother was eyeing off these ST24's... tho they weren't too affordable at the time. Great looking car, not many of them around either... May be a revival in the mod scene when the new one comes out? (Probably not...)

You might be right on that. Especially if there is a level of popularity.

This one would be especially good as it is at a price that makes it an easy one to justify mods.

Very condition that red one, good starting point, notes it has mudflaps but I didn't see any. Has sunroof, manual... but 21,000 is only a couple grand away from what I paid for mine 2 years ago and mine had half the mileage on it (and is still below the one in the link!)

Also noticed it has the stock dual exhaust on it... just not sure if they'll get the money they're looking for.

Interesting... the headlights don't match the body? It's a 99 model with 01 headlights, and the grill's missing (different grills from 99 to 01 as well)... I wonder if this car's had a front end smash? I highly doubt the owner would have optioned up to the newer headlights?

Hmm... well I have to admit the rims were very offputting on that car! and overpaid for how 'ugly' they looked. Interesting his 99 shape has the 01 rims! What's with all the mixing and matching!? Still, the car is very customised-for-one and I doubt it's going to sell easily.

Yeh, that's what Dad and i were saying. The fact he put the new lights on a car with a colour that doesn't suit either

Not bad not bad... but says it's an Eibach but I don't spot the rims, the kit, spoiler or bonnet scoop to justify it?

Looks in good condition, reasonably low k's for the car...

ST24 looks nice too... holding their value reasonably well.
