I'm no longer buying bits from there for any of my kits. I know I can get them cheap enough, but I don't "need them enough".. happy enough with my day job not to support what I don't understand.

Imagine if we all held onto things like this, if we all were around when the original XK falcons were kicking around and also falling apart.

Current resale on Japansese classics would show that they are very popular.

Probably due to buyers missing out on Aussie and US classics. I see quite a few for sale but are they sold for the asking price ??
There even some big dollar Morris Marina's kicking around at the moment, WTF !

So we can presume that when your cars clock up 100k you put them through the crusher, rather than trade them in to burden someone else with your cast off problems

Hi guys,
i wouldn't buy any cars that are built in China. I remember reading a story in a car magazine years back about 25,000 cars that were built in China had to be recalled because of asbestos found in almost 30 different gaskets.

That's not the only reason i don't over time that these cars can handle Australian roads but i could be wrong!

Toyota Aurion or V6 Camry.

Its too quick for me to handle
Sub 5 seconds to 100 is wayyyyyy too fast for my ability
The ride is too stiff
Stereotypes associated with it
They don't break down often so I wouldn't be helping the economy even after 300,000 kms.

While they look like bargains second hand, German monsters like the C63 and S/RS Audi's and their drive trains after 8+ years would be a liability.

Much want, but you would need to park $20k in reserve if something went wrong.

The vehicle must be for sale at the time of posting your choice.

One vehicle per post.

You must present at least 5 reasons why you wouldn't buy it.

$20k maximum price but no minimum.

I'll start the ball rolling with this little gem.

https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/gawl...-ss/1264399472

Reasons.
1) The bonnet scoop isn't large enough to suit my discerning taste.
2) It's not black enough (mirrors don't match) so lacks the really tough image.
3) Not personalised enough. Where's the low profile tyres etc?
4) Can only be driven at night.
5) True sports cars don't have a towbar.
6) No interior and I've run out of milk crates and cushions.
7) No dyno or 1/4 mile data provided.
8) It's a Holden.

Can anyone find something better/worse than this one?

Got my car serviced at Ford late last year, after saying I wouldn't, but supplied my own oil since they are a bit useless in picking the right one for my car themselves... No, I wouldn't buy a Ford SUV (since that was my loan car) which was a white knuckled ride through the ACT roundabouts to work that day. Happy to be back in my XR6T at the end of the day.

Never owned a Toyota, but had quite a few friends with them though, who incidentally had quite a few problems of their own with that brand.

If I didn't already have a cool 4 door turbo, the Kia Stinger might be on my list. But pretty sure my "5 reasons" would be the number of friends with Toyota's who had issues or cars I just didn't like to be in.

A lady at my work managed to buy a new Hyundai to replace her failing Viva/Daewoo. She ordered a base model in white, and I asked her why she didn't get it in yellow, which was her favourite colour.

"It's $500 extra... we can't afford it."

Not everyone has the paycheck to buy the best perceived brand. They get what they can.

Anyway, that's off topic... I did buy a '77 Sigma 2.0 5 speed manual. I copped a bit of criticism for that.

I've also got a 1985 car with less than 50k on the clock I'm thinking of selling, but that's another argument with someone, I'm guessing.

Looks like the side trim, bumper inserts, and other details have also been digitally added, possibly in MS Paint:
