Default CDAA's new Focus Zetec

Sorry for the quick post!

Picked up the wifes present today and it's a little beauty! Hopefully she'll like it!!...lol It's much better in fact than what I was expecting and the telfon coating has made it so glossy and shiny. With only 27kms on it, it goes much better for some reason than the demo with a alot more km's. Maybe that's just because this one's minee

I'll post some picture soon but here are few at my office.

Sensational! Congrats, I think she is a-gonna love it!

EDIT: Ooh! Is that in Titanium Grey? A bit hard to tell from the lighting.. If it is Ti Grey, I'll be REALLY keen to see more photos. Our LX Hatch will be coming in that colour, so all I have to do is imagine yours sans bodykit, and with slightly smaller wheels

Those Zetec's are lovely.

I think Titanium Grey just became my most wanted colour.

PS
Great touch adding that bow on the bonnet mate!

We'll I've only had the car 24 hours but I have to say that we're all very impressed! It's just so will made (this one is anyway..lol) and it's got some real get up and go for an N/A 2 litre.

Things I love so far:

Quality of the doors. and door handles (yes I know, I'm weird)
Gear box (manual). Very direct and knotchy (which I like)
Ride quality and quiteness is exceptional (road noise is quiter than the demo I drove)
Performance. with only a few km's on the clock it's pretty strong (see above)
Quality of most of the finishes inside. (initally I wasn't sure, but now it's grown on me)
The alloy scuff plates (they look the business)
Steering wheel with alloy inserts (very nice!)
Boot space (bloodly hell, it's huge)
Spotlights and black surround headlights
Very deep glove box
Sound system quality
All the buttons have a very nice quality feel to them
Overall appearance and colour
Overall quality for the money

Things I'm not so sure about.

Position of indicator stork (I find it too high up and not in a natural position)
No interior lighting for the rear passengers
Chimes going off when I enter the car
No auto lights off feature
Ride height (would like it a touch lower please)
Front seats are a little hard and unsupportive for a sports model
Very few places to put things like like sun glasses, phones etc
No six-stacker CD player:(
Offset of the alloy wheels. (with the puffed out guards the wheels need to have a slightly wider offset)

hmm very nice!

What do you think of the audio controls on the steering wheel? I think they are SHOCKING. Seriously, what muppet came up with that?!

How much does this teflon coat cost? You did that to your supra I think; is it that good?

lol..well my wife currently has a LandRover with the controls on the left hand side as well, so were both used to it. Doesn't bother me really but I see your point, it's no example of great design.

The teflon coating is the same as what I did with both the RZTT and my BA XR8 before that. Can't recommended it enough, but it's not cheap. Around $250-300 an application, but it lasts for about 12 months. Makes the finish ultra smooth and shiny, makes it much easier to clean and maintain plus it gives some protection from bird crap and stuff like that. My dealer does it for me in house. Other dealers offer paint protection as well, but there not all the same, not by a long shot!

There are cheaper ways of doing it I imagine, but I don't have the time. I like my cars clean and very shiney all the time, but don't wish to spend all my weekends washing the cars either.

Bugger. I was hoping some of those things which are present in LR (namely the seatbelt chime, that thing drives me insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!) would be rectified. I was not at all impressed with having no rear interior light - still looking to see what can be done about it actually.

Ah well, I guess no car can be perfect.

I love the controls in the Mk I Focus, I think they are absolutely brilliant. I have spent much time in the MK II and find them somewhat duller but still brilliant. I guess for someone used to steering wheel controls they might be hard to get used to but I really love the stalk on the side, perfect fit, perfect reach, very well though out.

Can I recommend Polyglaze Glide-On-Glaze. It's $15 and its keep my 2001 silver Astra (I'm waiting for my new Zetec) looking like spanking new all these years. It lasts about 6 months before reapplication.

I hate the side rear view mirrors, especially the driver side mirrors. I will get ordinary mirror cut out for it. The one on the demo I drove made it difficult to judge distance of rear oncoming cars. Just not use to them.

yeah fair enough...I guess once you are used to it its fine. But for a first timer they look/feel bizzare.
