Can anyone tell me if there is an electric fuel pump in the tank of a Focus LW 2011 2.0 TDCI or do they work with vacuum to suck up the fuel? I'm about to change my diesel fuel filter and am not sure how I'm going to bleed the air from the fuel line. Also when you remove the fuel line from the filter does the fuel run back to the tank and thus add air?
Any help greatly appreciated. |

If its like my LV TDCI and I'm assuming it is, they have no in tank fuel pump and it works solely on vacuum to suck the fuel up to the injection pump.
Mine is a bastard to bleed as well, you need to do it by vacuum, have you got one of those vacuum checker/brake bleeder things? |

certainly in the LT model diesel the pump is at the top of the motor and sucks petrol from the tank. Its difficult to get the car running unless you get all the air out of the line after changing the fuel filter.
