*sigh* Ford Sync? So they've found a way to make the new Focus even MORE American?
What on earth is wrong with what is offered in the Fiesta and Mondeo?

I just read more about the Ford Sync and saw some pictures.
I think Ford Sync is a more upgraded version of what is currently offered on the sports and titaniums. I thought it was MYFord that was going to be offered, but by looking at the thai spec Focus, it dosn't look like it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fordapa...in/photostream |

Ford Sync should be in every car sold by Ford in Australia if you ask me. It has already taken too long to get here!! |

I agree, about time we got up to date with technology, why the hell didn't we get it earlier.

According to the Thai website, we’ll also get Active City Stop and Blind Spot Information System along with SYNC. According to the ‘Features’ page, Bi-Xeon headlights remain, Active Park Assist, and pretty much all the current cars features. There is no mention of Satellite Navigation, though some pictures do show it, so it may not be an option in Thailand, but I see no reason why we wouldn’t get it as the Ranger WildTrac get’s the same unit.
Really good that pretty much all features appear to remain intact, so providing they get the quality right, this should be a ripper of a car that’s priced very smart. Well, hopefully they price is smart...

So plant opens in May and cars due in June?
What difference will this make to the RRP?

There a few cool new features coming in MKII which I can't say much about yet, but they will only make the Focus better!

So is a Thai focus going to be cheaper for the consumer or just Ford?

Doubt they'll change the price. Ford will just claim that the extra features that they'll come with will offset the savings.

I was told by a friend who is after a Diesel Titanium Hatch with SE Pack in Vic (anyone seen one) that Ford are adding but also taking from this model when the Thai built Focus arrives
DRL's gone Heated seats gone Scuff plates gone Full size spare gone Plus a few others I can’t remember! New stuff City Stop Blind spot warning Sync Colour coded bumper inserts This is all second hand info so please don't take this info as correct. If anyone in Melbourne has seen a new Diesel Titanium Hatch with SE Pack in Vic please let me know as he wants a German built one

There's a demo one in Candy red at Binks Ford in Deer Park that I was going to look at before I found my white one last week. They are getting very rare now, the German ones.

The new features are going to set the Focus apart from the other cars in it's league.
I'd actually love to have colour coded bumper inserts. Danny, your fiesta makes me drool. I seriously don't know why they dropped the 3dr when production shifted to Thailand as i prefer the look of the 3dr over the 5dr. |

So the opportunity has arose to collect the Focus I ordered a few months back. With the promise of SYNC, and more technology, and hopefully a cheaper buy price, the Thailand spec Focus is very tempting. Though I have Siri on my iPhone, and it does most of what SYNC does plus more, as it works really well with the Ford Audio in my Fiesta. Will wait for some more information first before making a decision...

i doubt they'd take off the DRL's. it'd be good if they made it standard for the titanium models though, with the xenon lights aswell.

Can confirm Ford are removing the DRL from the LW MK II Focus (Yep, it’ll be known as this). Quite a bit of extra things, like full leather on the Titanium and a reversing camera on the Sport & Titanium, though I was told no BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) which appears to be an odd miss. The range will also shrink, so while the four models remain (Ambient, Trent, Sport & Titanium) the variants of each model have been reduced (Example: No Diesel Titanium Sedan). The Sport & Titanium also get a new body styling kit, which I’m to assume is like the Focus Zetec S offered in the UK. And for the badge lowers, Trend, Sport and Titanium will all now feature badge models on the tail.
Regardless of all this, I’ve decided to accept my 2012 German-Build Focus Titanium. Pick-up this afternoon!

Dannyhilton"And for the badge lowers, Trend, Sport and Titanium will all now feature badge models on the tail." and so the badges should be back..how do you know what model is which ?? on the road, when following one ???? DRL's should stay..sets the Titanium apart.. full leather should have been standard . '
