Default Focus LW Ambiente warranty repair

Well I have had the car just over 2 weeks and already had a leak repaired under warranty. The RHF driveshaft seal had failed/perished. Cars only done 1800kms.

Anyway its been repaired so hopefully thats it.

Has any one else had any issues with their new Focus?
Interested to hear if there are any other issues.

There is a difference between failed and perished in my opinion. Was it installed incorrectly or was the actual part of poor quality or not made correctly?

There hasn't been much in the way of issues in the LW range posted here from what I can see.

Hopefully it was a one-off!

Perished is probably the wrong word, I would say the seal was probably of poor quality. The ford dealer did say what happened, but I can't remember their exact wording although they said its the first one they have seen like that. Just hope it is a one off.

I've had mine since Nov and it's not had any warranty concerns of any sort * touch wood * . Absolutely loving it.

The only minor gripe is the ill adhering weather shields over the windows. The adhesive is gapping in some areas however they aren't/haven't fallen off and are still keeping the rain out.

The big issue with this kinda stuff is that the area has to be completely clean and free of any kind of dirt/wax/grime/grease, once you achieve that, it will stick like crap to a blanket .

We usually use wattyl wax and grease remover (aka prepsol) and once you wipe something down with that, and stick an adhesive to it, it won't come off.

Its all in the prep work unfortunately.

I have had my LW Sports DSG for about a month. No problems yet. This would be a good thread to keep going to see what if any, similar problems occur and how Ford fixes them (or not).
