Question Car reg

I have a Escort mk2 which no registration documents. It is a white 2.0 GL auto 2 door. There is some etchings on the glass " AERZR" would anybody know if this would have been the reg. I am in the Uk and and just wanting to learn more about the car.

glass etching is like an anti theft id for stolen car parts .. it may be the old rego ..sometimes not

you should be able to request a "car history search" using vin and engine number
at a govt . car rego, division /dept

has some one cleaned behind the cars plates some times the dirt make shows previous plates

I am sure the UK will have car clubs and such I am sure there is one for early Fords

The wheeler dealer show from the UK sold a early cortina and it was sold to a club member who had all sorts of early 60s and 70s UK cars

where in the UK are you I come from Glasgow way back 1967
