Default garmin navigator issue

hi, i have a garmin deluxe 51, it won,t find any street name. i,ve tried a "hard reset" and no joy. i,m pretty hopeless at finding places ,so i need to get it going.
any ideas?

How old is the unit? Possible planned obsolescence?

Have you tinkered with phone based navigators like Google Maps or Waze?

Download “Garmin Express”, the desktop software used to update Garmin GPS’s.
Then sync your GPS using a USB cable to your PC and do a map reload.

maybe 2yo , it cost $500, it better not be outdated.

Great to see they're all buggy pieces of ****, I have a TomTom and it acts up on the regular.

that fixed it. about one hour of downloads, updates ect.
