Default Top gear Pranks

Finally got around to watching the top gear India special last night after the wife took control of the TV on Tuesday.

I couldn't help but notice the humor in first half of the episode was really silly and not that funny, but it got alot better as the trio left the city for the open road.

I loved the bit when they wired the brakes on May's car to the car horn, so everytime he pressed the brake pedal, the horn went off , and then the payback on Clarkson, putting the heater on and stealing the knob and jamming Hammond's seat forward, not that it would be such a issue for the little fella.

But curious to see how easy it would be to wire up the brakes to the horn, I assume you would need a relay of some sort, probably hard to do on a new car, I wouldn't do it but I really want to at the same time!!! haha

Anyone know how, or done it?????

easy as, just pick up the positive on the light and hardwire to the horn hardwire. Its funnier when you use the indicator though, and easier. its all in the front end.

Sat down to watch the India Special on Tuesday night, and for the first time ever for an unseen episode, I turned it off before it finished. The never-ending run of staged gags was tiresome and it just lacked the wit and spark of earlier episodes. The bit where they "entertained" the dignatories in the garden just lost me.......the runaway mower, Jeremy's firework, the parking mayhem. All just too childish and predictable.

Not a good one. Hope it improves.

Indicators are rarely used in India though todd

I thought the straight six cricket was hilarious and original, most of the other gags were rehashes though. Despite that, it was quite entertaining.

It was a bit over the top, but was also a special long episode so they had more time to kill.

I have heard of a mate routing the washer jet house up into the steering column pointing at the drivers goolies...

The indicator would be hilarious, the person driving wouldn't know what to do!!!

I would love to do it and setup a camera in the car just to see the reaction, especially with a person who has no idea about cars, then I would want to see their conversation with a mechanic...

Mechanic: "so what's the problem again???"
Driver: "well when I use the indicator, the horn goes off also"
Mechanic:

It's just a hopeless show now. Not worth it.

The special the week before was better - just cant remember where it was . They started on a raft in a river and they had 4 wheel drives. Clarkson trying a tight and very slow passing manouvre on the edge of a high cliff was cool to watch...

Bolivia is the one you're thinking of.

Wish they'd do an Australian one.

Some years back I went to Sydney to pick up a new work vehicle. Since I was in the fire brigade it came with red and blue lights. I noticed as I headed back west that each set of traffic lights I came up to cars moved out of my way. Later when the sun went down a bit I found that somehow the beacons had been wired into the brake lights, hence every time I touched the brakes all the emergency lights would come on. Fastest trip out of Sydney ever!

Top Gear was always staged, however as the challenges have further increased in magnitude and complexity, it is inevitable that the writers will have trouble pushing the boundaries. The show, I believe, has reached it's peak.

Lol.. I can see them buying cheap e-series or mid 80's commonwhores for under $1000, and trying to get from Albury/Wodonga to Mackay/Townsville, and then complaining about how bad the roads are...

I didn't mind some of the actual pranks, even though staged, but the way they played it up was just annoying. Notably the part with the front of the mini being ripped off.

Some people just have no sense of humour , so what if 1/2 the stuff is staged ?.
Dont like it ? dont watch it, I get a giggle out of it coz lets face it,, It`s a comedy show that involves cars, kick back with a beer and relax

The contrived nature was becoming so predictable it bordered on tedious. The latest series, however, has been much improved. Been enjoying it so far.
