Default What will I get - Honestly

OK, time to do something with the ute.

Ive just ticked over to 100,00k's on the ute, and that was my limit for selling, so Im seeing what I can get for it.

So, whatcha reakon I can get, both dealer and private??

Heres the specs:

Mar 2001 AUII xr6 ute
Liquid Silver
5 speed manual.
Colour coded Hard cover
No marks anywhere, slight stone chips on the front bonnet, nothing real noticeable.
18x8' rims plus 80% tyres
JMM streetfighter headers, plus 2 1/2 reback cat back exhaust.
XR8 intake, KN filter etc.
standard interior except for 6-stacker and momo leather steering wheel and gear knob.
As I said, 100,00kms, oil + filter changed every 5-10 thousand km's.

2 owners, I have owned since 30,000k's....

Generally i have found that utes can generate a higher resale price then sedans but wat anthony said is about right

Well I got my series 1 AU XR6(sedan) valued this morning, and it got $16,100 (105,000ks)

Being a series 2, and a ute, it would/should see 18k private.. most on Carsales and stuff with the same amount of k's, in good condition, are going for $17,500+

i would go private sale... and hope that you can get kind of what your looking for..
its a shame how much value our cars lose so rapidly!

I had a similar nasty experience at a dealer too.

I would much rather see my GP for prostate check, at least he puts on the rubber gloves first which gives you a clue this is going to be uncomfortable.

I spoke with a dealer the other day about trade for a newer ute.

He advised me to sell my current ute privately .. cos i will get SOOO much more than what Ford will give me for a trade ... at least the guy was honest with me. He said being LPG I could sell it pretty much immediately as well.

I think it's worthwhile holding onto the ute if there is nothing wrong with it .... and keep enjoying it while your can .... I don't think it's worth sellign at 100,000km anymore as it is now out of warranty for km (if vehicle is under 3 years old) ... and people will try and get the lowest price for them.

A lot of people look at vehicles of your price for a bargain amount.

Thanks for the advice fella's.

Probably the main reason I am selling is due to the fact that I want a new ute, which wont happen if I keep the current one for too much longer, as I will be looking at a house down the track, so might as well enjoy a new ute while I can (Waste of money, I know)...
