Default Question about Ba XR6 Interior

G'day, just wondering if the ba grey door skins can be replaced with blue ones without having to change the whole door panel? Thanx

Default Re: Vapour lock

Hi all

Got a quick question for everyone.....I've recently taken delivery of a freshly restorated concourse XY GT-HO Replica from the GT Shop in Melbourne. So far I've clocked up 161 miles and everything has pretty much been smooth sailing. The Cleveland is stroked out to 393 cubes and its running a 780 Holley. The only problem I've had so far is with what I suspect is vapour lock. I suspect the fuel is vapourising in the glass fuel filter that is located just before the fuel pump in the engine bay.

Has anyone ever come across this problem and if so what can I do to fix it???

Hello!
This my first post. What a great website! It has been very helpful so far.
Just bought a 2010 TX petrol rwd Ford Territory Black 26,000kms. Paid $23.500 from a dealer 'Driveaway'. Included factory towbar, tinted windows and side steps. Got RACV to do a warrenty check. Some small probs. Rear Diff mounts shot. President Ford replaced all 3, free of charge last week. Only took one day. Racv said brake fluid contaminated. Got "Brakes plus" to flush out and refill. $49.00. Some small wear on front tyres. wheel alignment fixed problem. I am very happy so far with the car. Getting 13.5/100km.
Cheers Kevin.
Why Uberchic? Told my wife's brother we bought a black car. He replied Wow very Uberchic!

Welcome to the forums Everyone Good to have you all onboard.

DaMun, bit jealous of you. Love the Escort Panel Vans myself and nearly bought one two years ago. Still kicking myself about it now and still keep my eyes open for one. They are a great little car and becoming harder and harder to find.

Cheers

Hi everyone! I'm Dave and I drive a Silk Blue BF Mark II XR6 and was last of the Mark II run. Premium everything in it. Running low profile 18's on it and sticks to the road like glue! Thanks for letting me join! Been a Ford Boy all my life.

Moved from Tassie to Vic 4 years ago in an old XD GS Falcon....the Auto was shot, indicator stalk was shot and the starter motor was...you guessed it...shot. Nothing a quick tap with a hammer didn't fix though....LOL!!!

Hi, names Adam I've been a Subaru/Skyline fan for the last 10+ years but I'm getting a little tired of the constant engine issues.

I've also owned a 2004 Ford Territory AWD for about 5 years, had been the wife's car up till now "she's upgraded, the WRX is gone and now I've got the 2ton beast"

It's silver / two tone dark grey at the bottom, dead stock apart from some 30% tint.

I've always done the oil/spark plugs myself and its been extremely reliable.

Look forward to talk with you guys and learning a bit about the car that I'm now driving.

I know very little about the engine "4L straight 6" all I know is that she chews the fuel like crazy.

Have order a Lukey high flow panel filter but yeah don't know what else I should do to gain performance, will search around the forum! ;)

Cheers!

Hi All,

My name is Bram and my father gave me his Ford mulberry xb which he bought brand new. It has so much family history as I was brought home as a baby from the hospital in it and I learnt to drive in it. It has been my daily driver since I was 18.

I currently live in London UK.

I have heard about a mulberry xb which may be for sale here in the UK. Does anyone know anything about it?

I would love to get my hands on a xb gs coupe 351 with sunroof and vinyl roof one day.

Cheers

Bram

Hi all,
I come from a family of ford people yet I was always holden through and through, same with my husband.
A few days ago we bought our very first ford! A 2004 XR8. Must say it is a nice car. It's needing a blue slip as its been out of rego for 2 years before I can take it for a drive :( Nothing worse than having a nice car sitting there and not being able to drive it. Main things needing attention are its ground clearance is too low (have a previous defect notice in amongst the paper work given to us) and the exhaust needs "something".
Will be asking plenty of questions and looking forward to getting to know you all here.

Hi all,Dave's the name, just an oldie who won't grow up(what my adult kids reckon anyway!!).Have had my current ford for 6yrs now(1 of heaps). It being a '05 S11 BA Ghia 220v8,was thinking of trading her in for a FGxr8,forget it,only offered $10grand as trade in,have spent too much on the girl eg 2 1/2 sports exh' ,tran's oil cooler, cold air intake (Jim Mock Motorsport).Eaton tru trak lsd (these models only came out with single spinner-cost cutting!) DBA slotted front rotors.Paint protection by my mate Justin of Platinum Paint Protection.meticulously serviced every 6mths,69grand on the clock,na i'm keep'n her.Would like to upgrade exhaust to twin system, would entail cutting fibreglass bumper to fit chrome tips(current exh' has dump pipes)would extractors pep her up a bit,as according to Jim M it won't make much difference with the 220?.Nice joining up,please get back to me re exh' issues, seeya

Default Looking for V8 utes

Hello everyone,

I'm on here to pick up as much knowledge as I can and interact with as many members of the Australian Ford community as I can.

I'm from England, always owned Ford mini trucks and over the last 10 years have been obsessed with Falcon utes.

I will be in Aus in two weeks time for a year and want to go to as many Ford meets as possible. And eventually take home the ultimate Australian souvenir. . . . A Ford V8 Ute!

If anyone can give me any good advice or point me to good ute threads on here I would be very grateful.

Welcome illfamosi,
What town do you plan to live in?

This is a pretty great Ute thread to whet your appetite.

Talking Re: Welcome to New Members - Post here to say gday!

High guys - joined up today after several weeks of searching Google for solutions to my Territory problems and ending directed to your forums - which have really helped.
Now - just for fun - I would like to post a full history of owning an SX AWD from new - but first - how do you search the forums and where do I go for some destructions ?

I am fairly tech savvy but it is a bit hard to navigate around your forum.

Before I start on the Tritty let me say that my first car ever was a Mk 2 Cortina saloon (showing my age a bit) back in 1974 in the land of the Pom (there is another admission) - 1500 cc of pure power - had a lot of fun and learnt the basics of simple car mechanics including how to replace the clutch from underneath - with the car on ramps, by dropping the gearbox.
(Getting it back on was fun - but i was a lot younger and fitter then. )

I eventually sold the old girl and replaced it with a MK2 cortina Estate - a wagon to you guys - and had a lot of fun with that one too.

I went on to own a Renault 12,(steel was so thin the wing indented if you leant too hard on it) an Alfa Sud - total rust box - used to get lumps of rust falling down from behind the dashboard when going over a bump - ended up re-painting it in Hammerite.

Then got the Triumph bug - Spitfire - another rust bucket - and 3 GT6's - dont know if they ever made it to AUS but did see one in melbourne once - what a gorgous looking old sports car - but - un fortunately - another rust bucket - you needed to own 3 because you would progrssivly strip 2 for parts to keep the third one going - by the way - think of a fast back hard top Spitfire - 2 litre straight 6 under the bonnet with 4 speed manual and overdrive on the rear driveshaft.

Then - a beat up VW Scirocco - bought for 100 quid in the acutions , ran it for 2 years and sold it for 150. Awesome

Then - a Furd Capri - the mk 3 i think - nice car but the rear end had a nasty tendancy to go faster than the front (particularly when braking hard) leaving you pointing the wrong way so it had to go.

Finally - a Scirroco GTX which had an 1800 cc 4 cylinder engine and was an absolute rocket ship - why do the Germans build such good cars ? can i say this here?

Came to Aus in 1993 and never looked back - if i had i would've seen the girl friend following me but it's too late now - married with 2 kids and no time for cars - until recently.

Do you (US !) Australians realise what an awesome place this is, even if the beer is --- I wont go there today.

So - Company EB Falcon - company cars are like hire cars in that they can out accelerate anything else on the road. Coming from England it was like driving a battle star - or at least a star cruiser. Over the course of a year or so we drove it from Perth to Port Hedland and back via Monkey Mia ( 4 in the afternoon with the misses driving at a solid 180 km ph for over and hour and never coughed once)

Drove it back to Mel via Esperance. Albany, the Nullabor (everyone has to do it once - but wouldnt do it again) and eventually they retired it and replaced it with
A 4 cylinder Camry - boring
complained about that so much they gave me a Verada - nice car - boring

That expired when the air suspension was prooving too costly to maintain and replaced with a V6 Camry - ultra reliable but ultimately - boring

finally - company got tired of the bills so offered me a lease. I could have whatever I wanted - and could afford. So - went straight down to the Range Rover dealer. Always wanted a Disco - that was untill i drove one - very dissapointed.

So - on the way back from RR passed a Ford dealer with a brand new Tritty sat in a very provocative position - just had to have a go. One test drive later and I was hooked - they had only been out a couple of weeks but I had to have one - so - Mica red, 2004 SX AWD - alloy wheels - 7 seats - and there I was like a pig in the brown stuff driving around in this absolutely awesome Vehicle with a smile as wide as - - - er - well you get the picture

It starts to go down hill from here - will continue next week -

Hi guys!

Hey Lofty not much help to you but I have the same problem with our XB GT. I bought new Rare Spares rubbers and can't shut the bloody doors!

I would be interested having a chat about your RRS suspension sometime as I have fitted the same to our XB Coupe
