In reality all this amounts to is a stay of execution, he'll "consult" with said groups then probably still forge ahead with his same, or slightly modified plans, and roll out the "but we consulted with the groups and their demands were unsatisfactory, our research shows bla bla..." welcome to politics.

Good news!
The purposed VSI 50 (height modification laws to vehicles) which was to be commenced in NSW on August 1st 2009 has now been postponed. A committee (working group) will be assigned to address the road safety issue in 2010. Attached the pdf of it all! |

Is there any car enthusiasts body, like the Australian National Four Wheel Drive Council or the NSW-ACT Four Wheel Drive Council?

It's still a load of bulllshit. The fun police take everything away - everything has to be regulated and mandated. |

I think the point that needs to be pushed and pushed on our side is that the enforcement of the current laws, with regard to lowering, is pitiful. There is no need to introduce this "illegal past 5cm" business because the likelihood of any road car meeting the current rules with that much of a drop is less than my love for politics and politicians.
The new rules do not add anything new for cars, other than create the possibility of many jobs being lost. If 'hoons' are already going beyond the current rules, how will new rules change anything? |

Additional bullbar 'reform' (See #24 above) down the track, mmm. Scruby looks to be having additional success in his campaign.
Rem, read all this as part of eventual national reform, those of you interstate should be taking note of events in NSW. Folk are free to discuss the matter with Athol Mullen via Facebook.
