No need for that with the I6.

Its pretty clear from inside the engine plant that this is its last generation.

It's at the top of it's market. Not it's game. It could seriously do with coming into the 21st century... and then leap frog the US's V6's.

I don't think the I6 will get anything new after FG2, it will more than likely carry through to 2015/16 as it is. They won't spend money on a dead duck when the production figures are getting so low. 190 a day is chicken feed, it was like 480 a day during BA, thats a massive drop and has more than likely sealed its fate as those numbers aren't viable long term.

So like I said. A proper tuned LPG with the Turbo trans clutch pack could be viable as a performance LPG option. EcoXR6? or ER6?

To be positive,
1) the I-6 isn't going anywhere just yet.
2) FG II is out later this year
3) ^^I'd expect a good three years out of it.

That's nearly Four years, anything can happen in that time.

Well that electric water pump that we've mentioned a few times might make an appearance. Would reduce parasitic drag on the motor and make it more fuel efficient too.

But a factory LPI XR6 Turbo would be the coolest.

I agree, however I've driven a Yaris and it didn't feel too bad with the electric steering control.

It's a bit like Boeing vs Airbus when Airbus introduced 'fly by wire' with no mechanical link between the controls and the wings. Some pilots hated it but most are used to it by now and even Boeing has adapted that technology into its newer planes.

Hence the name EPASS = Electronic Powers Assisted Steering.

Like most things new it is treated with suspicion until we realise that it
works fine, I doubt that most people will pick the difference or even care.

Your enthusiasm is great, but perhaps reading a bit more and posting less in the short term will help you find out who seems to know a little more than others, we aren't all on the opposite side of the county in relation to Ford.

EPAS is in the new Territory is great and most people will pick the difference especially existing Territory drivers.

Yes it does. I currently drive a SY2 Terry and the difference is very noticeable. The car fell more 'solid' on the road and not as twitchy at high speeds but very light steering at low speeds.

Back to LPG. Quite a few LPG's have been built in the last week or so all in FG guise. I have heard alot of good talk about it, even the fact that the rear end of the Ute (diff) is having problem handling the torque. I believe an upgrade to the standard diff is on the books.

The diff bush is on sedan (IRS) I was referring to the UTE. The IRS can handle a 335kw GT so I doubt the LPG I6 will destroy it.

Based on what wotdah just said the new ecolpi is coming down the line already (for final testing production spec i assume) so its not a technical reason. Unless its to do with that start up issue legally speaking as discussed earlier than i can't see much left to get in the way.... But as you say maybe the guys on here more into the lpg industry will know more....
