If it was a Ford Oz prototype there would be a brass tag on the number plate....can't see one in these shots....

that would be the new ssangyong i heard about at work a few months ago... to replace the current chairman... which they sold one unit... lol
theyre going through the same thing hundai faced when they started, now theyve made a pretty decent name for themselves, with some half decent vehicles... same as honda way back aswell... people dont like things out of the norm... look how people reacted to that photo when they tought it could be the orion... glad its not though purely for the fact its ugly...
that towcar looks very boxy from that rear view... could be the new beemer though...

^ only one???

There's one getting around Canberra.

I didn't get the name of it or anything just a vague memory of the badge design, took me weeks of searching to track down what it was.

why?
is it a rule or something that Ford have to do this?
i genuinely have never heard of it so if you could explain further and give some pics of previous models with these tags, it would be appreciated.

The one in black could be a GM car for the Saudis. Holden is now one of the global design studios and alice would be the perfect place to test a car going to the middle east.

Cars on the ford fleet, or at very least the press evaluation ones - are fitted with a brass tag on the front number plate. Unsure if this extends to test mules though...

The falcon should be there sooner or later, keep up the good work.
Why the hell would Ssang Yong actually think people would be interested in getting the scoop on their cars?

Thats the thing. It was the service manager at centralian Motors that said the new "large" ford was in town. He said that the guys wouldn't even tell him what car was being tested. I will keep my camera handy over the nest few weeks. He did mention that it might be new running gear on a BF but it was all covered over so he didnt know.
Mabe he his having a jolly with me.

The ssangyoung ute is a "Kyron" i think....

Saw them last time in korea, they replace the 5 seater Musso ute. they have a lowish front end, wierd looking eagle eye headlights with a roundish bit along the bottom that looks crap, but the ute and tailgate is bloody very high iirc...

hmmm kyron.. ill see if i can find some pics... its been for sale over there for around 8-9 months, would look pretty good if they didnt buggerise the front end lol

woops, but it could be the SSangyong "actyon" the mule is missing the extra but of plastic along the rear glass edge, but the channel just under the ute lip is the same....

Could they be some of the chrysler vehicles that are going to be sold over here now? Chrysler is starting to sell more than just jeeps, so could be something there?

All cars registered to Ford are tagged to keep track of it's fleet. It's purely an internal thing. Not sure of the tag's shapes but generally depending on the employees position within the company they could be round or rectangular tags attached to the corner of the number plate.

They didn't by chance have a cross-eyed lion with them, did they? :

AAAHHHHH my eyes, my eyes. That has to be the ugliest attempt at a 4WD / ute / school drop off vehicle / tax loophole that I’ve ever seen. Someone shoot it before it breeds. out:

I think my eyes are bleeding.

Top Job on the pics OBJ...keep hunting.

Could It be that Ford are supplying engineering support (and a dyno trailer) for this mule in return for a bit o cashola - hence why Ford Service Manager knows about it?
