I agree with Black XR6. The Building workers are going to be worse hit with this new IR. I can not wait for the next election. I will bet the Liberals will be voted out, I hope. By the way I have never voted Labour before, But I will be sure to vote Labour at the next election.

The Liberals have gone rotten, so It's time we throw out the garbage.

As a Casual you are paid more because that is all the entitlements you get. If you call in sick you dont get paid, there is no super and no anuual leave.

If they want to make it fairer for business than they can drop the payroll tax. But I guess dropping a tax is too difficult unless the government can scr#w you in another way. I know that you need to add about 40% (not saying that this is all payroll tax) more to what an employee is being paid but this reform is just going to help business.

I'm a casual in one of my jobs and I get super. I think if you work below a certain amount of hours a week you don't get super - I heard that from someone else recently.
I've even got long service leave accrued now - despite being casual. The state long service leave act applies it to all employees who work for reward. So if it's not covered in the relevant award, the state act applies for long service leave.

Yeah your right about the super you need to do more than 10 hours a fortnight, I havent been casual for a while. But the annual wasn't there when I was a casual.
But with casual if they dont like you than they just dont put you on anymore as they dont have to give you minimum hours like part time (at least it was when I was casual).

I said the official response.

The fact the libs have been trying to control minimu wage since he won the election isn't mentioned.

If you dont believe me, why has the independant wage tribunal been abolished?

liberals have always argued that the minimum wage is to high . and they always vote against pay rises. they do not oppose bosses (staff management salaries being increased with thier true inflation measure sometinmes up to 30% also the day after the GST CAME IN every politician was given an 11% pay increase. it was printed in the papers in the middle pages in small print, didn't even make the news headlines .strikes and secondary boycotts are illegal (thanks to the lberals ) which on its own spells f u jack i'm ok. now lets get rid of the industrial independant relations commitee and unfair dissmissal laws shall we . that way our country and everyone in it will be far better off. it amases me how they constantly get away with so much . even evil doers target civilians (not the government ) anyhow i've said enough but i'll be voting labour next election cant believe i actually voted liberal once . never again . although i dont believe labour are to great either.blody pollies you just have to look at thier rorts .the people should regain the power . not the bloody pollies . the f u jack i'm ok attitude has to change if our children are toi have a fair go .

I think everybody knows where I stand on this issue...just to add to the debate..there is a Nordic country whose govt cannot pass anything major such as the IR stuff without a referendum...I think its high time that we as Aussies pressed our govt to do the same.

OK I shall try to explain communism..albeit superficially.."To each according to his needs and from each according to his ability.."

However the one thing that brings true communism down is....human greed!!!!

That unfortunately is the state of the human condition...there are always those that want more material possesions and power over the population.

This is not to say that there was not true and honourable ppl who tried to promote the Communist Ideal...just that there were those who took advantage and tried and in a lot of cases screwed the worker for their own gain.

I know I'm going to incur the wroth of the team...however...our current govt fits the bill...Dictator?????????

Flat-earth theories!

How is it those that feel they are most equipped to run the country always are all driving taxis or wish they could get a gig driving taxis?

Yep don't disagree..however he's in power...there is only one way under the current system to fix it ,....vote them out at the next election...and push for the referendum on all things that affect you.

Debate is only possible when both parties have an open mind! Anything else is just the most pointless of arguement.

Its funny how the gov can organise a referendum for the monarchy debate. But not this. And this is an even bigger change really.

Well it's a worry when taxi drivers and the like can see the shortcomings and come up with better ideas than the pollies

And pimply 19yo's can see the Shortcomings in Aussie performance cars!

There is a big difference between talkers and do-ers, the great idea's just like the 500Kw Falcons designed from magazine clippings, generally prove impractical, unworkable or demonstrate nothing more than a lack of knowledge on the subject at hand.

But can they write a whole act and regulations, then can they close most of the legal loop holes as well. I think not. I personally think they are doing what is best for the country. If it was a popularity contest the Libs would not be doing it. Look at how well the country has been going the last few years, some things that allowed this was the GST and not everybody likes that.
