I generally just enjoy my own car.. although I do have a brief chuckle as I spot an "OH WOW!!!" feature (as we call them at work).
My favourite was sited last year, an old chap in an immaculate XE, probably one owner with 20,000km on the dial. Anyway on the front guard where the indicator would be on a newer car there was a vertical tower of badges from just about every Ford spec including such gems as: standard ford badge, Landau, S, Ghia (both XD/XE lettered and newer shield style), GT, futura from an EF, and i believe even a cortina badge. It was woeful on such a clean car but he was obviously stoked so good on him

Just saw a hyundai exel with the HSV sticker "I just want one" made me laugh.
Fal_Coon, relax mate, this is just a joke thread, nothing serious about it, you can do whatever you want to your car, I admire your attitude.

Adding a badge from a different model can't always be a bad thing. Can it?
I added some vintage Cougar badges to the front guards of my modern Cougar. It looked sort of bare without them, and they match all the other cougar head icons over the car. Is it wrong?

I think that is ok K10wN. It seems to directly relate.
My opinion about the chev badge is this. The chev badge on Holdens came about when owners started putting them on their LS1 cars to say "hey look at me, I have a chev engine" which I don't know if it is good or not but putting chev badge on non Holden V8 engine cars is a bit odd, again, in my opinion. You don't see Ford Focus XR5 turbo drivers putting Volvo Badges on their cars do you? (I hope they aren't)

Remember one thing.... The grass is not greener on the other side, grass is just grass man! If you want something, work and you'll get it... if you make choices along the way (have kids too young, drink or take drugs, take an easy low-stress job) of course you wont end up with a $60,000+ car.... but if you dedicate yourself to something anything is possible. Now to topic... I came from working class background with parents that busted **** 18+ hours per day.... I have that ethic and have given up so much to have the toys I have now. I have what I want, AND I worked for it. Daniel |

But I didn't grow up expecting my parents to buy everything for me, I worked for what i've got, thats the difference. Many kids grow up expecting their parents to buy them their first car etc. There's a much greater sense of achievement having worked for something rather than having it bought for you. |

I meant chev badges on commodores have only been around for around 10 years starting after the LS1 went into the VT II.
Not sure what you mean about the Cleveland comment mate.

I'd love to see a Holden badge on a 57 Chev.

Chev badges on Holdens date back to when Chevs were in Holdens way back when... I don't know why people get their knickers in a twist over it. To me it's a better badge aesthetically than the lion.

chev badges have been on commodores for much longer than the vt ii. maybe that is when holden put them on (personally i do not care if they did). people have been putting their own personal touches on cars for years - so what if it is more conforming than individual now - there are plenty of bridges around omg - i just realised, my xb fairmont coupe has an fc ltd boot lock surround and a gt badge on the grille and a sticker that relates to a lancer gsr turbo on my back window. then again, they all have a meaning that the average aff member could not understand |

Ah, I did not know that they built the Cleveland engine in Australia. I knew that those Donks were originally built in Cleveland, hence the name. So the Australian made donk should have been called the broadmeadows engine?
