Then BBC can edit the show all they like ... If anything BBC are responsible for what goes to air!! Yes it's a beat up...

Did anyone se Clarkson in tv talking about going down to Surrey and taking one last lap of the top gear track?
To me that says it all about how out of touch JC is and how lost the whole thing is... bBC should ban him from the track and bury the series, release the unaired footage on DVDs and donate the proceeds rather than pay presenters that believe rules of decency don't apply to them I say... |

News of the hearing out tomorrow I think.
Interesting that media have already speculated that he won't be sacked and that they will have a minder with him at all times. Also interesting is the mate ship the 3 of them had. Hammond and May have refused to resign their contracts and complete the rest of the series until they have Clarkson on board with them. Also speculation, the 3 of them will take the show to another network, under a different name I guess. I can't wait.... |

I'd imagine more than the name would have to change. They may get away with the same entertainment based format but I don't think other key things like the studio stage would be the same.

I can't see JC putting up with a minder hovering around all the time, and if he does I can just see him winding the minder up non stop till they sack him or the minder cracks and runs for the hills.
I still think this is all a strategic exit strategy by Clarkson, but if the BBC cave this time I reckon Clarkson will just find another way to provoke them into not renewing his contract. When he goes, the other 2 will go with him and they'll start up another show on another network. Alas, there'll be no more Stig, no more star in a reasonably priced car and no more hot lap leaderboard, but I can see some sort of "star" challenge. Maybe weekly match races like a side by side special stage a-la WRC, except on tarmac.

"NOW that it increasingly looks like he’s out of a job, suspended Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson is moving his attention to another idea for a possible top-rating television series — farming.
Sources tell The Times in London that the rural enthusiast wants to do for agriculture what he did for motoring. “In the last week [Jeremy] has had a chance to firm it up,” a source close to Clarkson told the newspaper. “It’s about trying to run a farm when you don’t know anything about farming, and ... getting things wrong, in a Top Gear-esque way.” The 54-year-old host was suspended by the BBC for allegedly punching producer Oisin Tymon during a row which took place after filming, and was again in hot water at the weekend for calling his bosses “f***ing bastards” in an expletive-laden rant at a charity event. While an investigation into his conduct is under way, friends say Clarkson is already speaking as though he has been fired, and he’s exploring other work opportunities. His idea for a show that explores the lives and challenges of farmers and people who work in the countryside is something he’s said to be currently developing. It doesn’t yet have a name, but friends have perhaps uncreatively joked Top Tractor could work. Back in 2012, Clarkson pitched the idea to the BBC’s then director general George Entwistle, The Times reports. It didn’t go ahead because the pair couldn’t agree on a shoot location. There could be strong interest in whatever project Clarkson moves to next, although he might have trouble striking a deal with the BBC after his rant last week. “To be in the audience of Top Gear there was an 18-year waiting list,” he told the charity function. “You know the BBC has ********* themselves, and so who gives a *******? It was a great show and they ********* it up.” During the event, Clarkson also offered one lap around the Top Gear track for auction, Britain’s Mirror reports. “I’ll drive somebody around in whatever I can get hold of. I’m sacked so it’s probably an Austin Maestro,” he said. “But anyway it will be my last ever lap of the Top Gear track.” Writing afterwards in The Sunday Times, Clarkson said it had all been in good humour. “But it was all meant in jest and anyway it worked,” he said. “By being brief, controversial and a bit sweary I woke the room up and the auction prize I was offering — one last lap of the Top Gear test track — raised STG100,000 ($193,050).” http://www.news.com.au/entertainment...-1227273861902 Interesting !! imagine a John Deere v Steiger on the track!!!!

I'll wait until the BBC officially announce it. That article is speculating.
If it happens then so be it.

So he reported himself for the dust up at the time. That's the first time I've seen or read of that, but it seems to me, that would seem to back up my conjecture that it was a strategically planned exit strategy by Clarkson going back to when he sold his shares in the show back to the BBC.
I'll predict that May and Hammond go with him. May is a long time mate of Clarkson going back long before Top Gear and Hammond doesn't have the presence to take the lead in a new lineup. The chemistry between the 3 of them is what makes the show and if you take one away, especially Clarkson, the bubble will burst I reckon.

We can only hope that JM and RH follow him to another station and create a show suspiciously resembling Top Gear. There's talk of Chris Evan replacing JC but IMO it wouldn't work so Evans would simply be setting himself up for a failure (think: Top Gear Australia).

Mays Twitter feed now updated to say "Former TV presenter", so he won't be back. Like I said above, Hammond doesn't have the presence to be the front man like Clarkson was and he'd be mad to stay on that sinking ship, so I'm now waiting for the confirmation that he's off as well.
