Based onethe UK price that makes it $62,276 on todays exchange rate
Then add the Australia tax
Dealer delivery and rego and add on's AND ........

I/we were really keen on one of these, but as TIME drags on, NOT SO, regardless of price !
(Oh how waiting can take the excitement out of it and bring in other choices/options)

The XR6T SPRINT really has my ATTENTION now
(Would love an XR8, but the XR6T is tempting, and it's not my choice alone)

THE RACE IS ON
Will be an arguement on the day I sign I am sure, the smiles after the first drive will be priceless

Mowdit and Suttoo, you are both right with the price of the RS and it's looking to be quite ugly with the way our currency is heading.

Having said that, the price in Germany is 39,000 Euro which is exactly the same as the Golf R, so desperately hope Ford follows VW's path and brings the car to Australia with a similar markup.

It would also be nice if Ford give us something soon as the wait is slowly diminishing the excitement. Approximate arrival time, price would be good.

Golf R is $35,650 in the USA and the US price for the RS is $35,730 - so this is a touch under AUD $50K with today's exchange rate.

Looks like they're lineballing it with the Golf R in the other markets...

Don't compare UK prices. They are always very high. It should be around Golf R/WRX Sti price.

I'm a bit disappointed with my local Ford Dealers customer service skills, I'm a genuine buyer regardless of price and performance. So I lobbed up yesterday in my beaten up Falcon family wagon, flano shirt and boardies (not going to pretend to be someone I'm not) Waited for a guy to come over and asked a few questions, was told I'd have to wait until the release... Confused I went home and grabbed my old Escort RS, drove back and parked it in the middle of the forecourt all shiny and cammed up... haha, they were running out of the door to help even got an invite to come in and sit down... I've dealt with this before at dealers and have taken my business else where... Hope it doesn't happen at the next place, I really want one of these in my garage...

Intriguing. I've been kicking the tyres on an WRX STi, Golf R/GTi performance, CLA45 AMG but may be waiting a little longer. Just depends on what the $ comes out as & how it drives.

I hear you, and your thinking is very similar to mine. I've recently purchased a Golf R as I couldn't wait any longer. The R is a sensational car, but depending on the price of the Focus RS, I might convince my wife she really needs a Golf R for her daily requirements. After all, it is "automatic".
Seriously though, who can go past the raw excitement of the RS. And what do you know, it's manual only. I know it's selfish, but in my household only one person can drive it. That is what I call a win-win.

If you are prepared to wait, it could be worth it.
Not likely to be here till March/April 2016
That's over 19 months since the official announcement

so long in fact that ive lost track.........

Orders are being taken now in the USA with delivery starting in January 17.

$USD44000 fully loaded.

I'm keeping an eye on these as well.
My Golf R is only 3 months old but it spends more time at the dealership than my place with warranty issues - haven't even seen it in weeks!
I was thinking STI or R before buying and looks like I made the wrong choice.
A release date for this thing would be helpful.

Good to see that Ford is being aggressive. To many here think Ford somehow is above the others, fact is its a competitive market and RRP would have to be in the top 3 reasons why someone would walk into the dealership.

Good work Ford.

As we had discussed earlier, Ford has done the right thing and priced the car exactly as we had stated. Great day indeed.

The Magnetic is awesome, it's even a Mustang colour, thinking the Nitrous will be a bit like a metallic version of Nitro on the FG1's...white and black are kinda staple colours.
