It was nice and sunny today and got my paint protection put on. The detailer who did the paint prot said the orange was immediately more noticeable as he started applying the coating. Really brings it out which I agree. Some paints just pop more with the coating than others he reckons and I agree!! The orange pearl really shines through.
So naturally had to take some snaps!! |

I have been debating weather to go the black side stripes but i think i will pass. Black wheels will most likely happen but not any time soon. The first thing will be some nice dark tint.

I've booked mine in for Formula 1 tint on Saturday. I hope it doesn't look too dark as I don't like the dark black look. I just want a nice shaded colour.
I've really noticed the hot sun in the Fist the last few days. Clearly the factory light tint has next to no heat reflection. I feel like I'm burning to a crisp on the way home from work compared to my old car that only had factory windows. |

Hey Skramit, mine is same colour as yours and I got the 35% tint on top of the 5% factory tint, might give you some reference to how yours will look with the tints!!
Pics are a few posts down there. |

So you're at 30% VLT? Isn't that illegal?
It looks good. I'm not after a super dark look because I want other drivers and pedestrians to be able to see me and I think super dark black looks ridiculous on most cars. Last edited by Skramit; 19-11-2013 at 09:32 AM. |

VLT? What's that?
I'm presuming it's legal, was done by the dealer, and included in purchase as an option, so must be ok! |

Visible light transmission. I think it depends on Which state you live in. I'm no tint expert but I read 35% is the limit in most states?

Cops won't hassle you, the actual issue is voided insurance claims.

Yeah if you're in a prang and it's a write off you can bet the insurance company will check everything to get out of paying including illegal tints.

As long as they can prove that your own side/rear visibility caused the event.

So is there some kind of instrument that can be used to measure this VLT?
Pretty sure NRMA cover all extras anyways, they were the only ones that had th FiST in their system back at the end of August and they have been informed of the tints. Surely a reputable tint installer would not apply tint that is beyond the legal limits?!? |

Just got my windows tinted. Here's the result! Very happy with the Formula 1 tint from tintacar.
EDIT: The receipt I got says 35% tint so one would hope in the rvent of a nasty insurance claim I could say well here's my receipt it says 35%. Before: After: Last edited by Skramit; 23-11-2013 at 12:48 PM. |

Of course this is only my opinion but from what I've seen, WHITE is hands down the best color for this Fiesta. The contrast with the rims and tyres is great. And I don't even like white.

If I had to rank the colours in order it would be this:
Orange, blue, white, red, black I wish we had the green option here like the US model but oh well. Imagine the green with black rims mmmmmmmm |

So I drove up to Black Spur today and oh my god. Have any of you guys driven this road yet in your FiSTs? I'm guessing probably the best road in Australia for a Fiesta ST. The surface is smooth, the road is narrow, lined with tall trees and banks. At the moment it's very green and lush because of all the spring rain. But the road, omg 15km of bends and bends and just........!!!!!! The speed limit is 80 which is actually plenty given how narrow and windy it is. The cops were sitting there watching too. As long as you don't catch up to another car in front it's just FiST paradise. Sat in 3rd Gear the entire way only flicking up the gears on a few straighter bits towards Marysville.
Took time to stop and take a few snaps too |

Looks like a good road, though a bit out of my way...
There's a similar road down south of Perth, near Denmark. 35km of winding roads, trees all around you, 80km/h all the way. It's probably lucky I don't live close by, or I'd be heading down it just about every day.
