Awesome feedback mate, I've ordered the part and I'll get it fitted after 1000kms so I'll be able to test out both as well.

Still bloody annoyed with the dust the pads produce on the ST. I purchased some Bowdens Own wheely clean and ill be honest its the best wheel cleaner ive used.

Also, anyone with Euro plates how did you mount your front plate, did you have to drill it? Ive been looking at Euro plates is all

Hi all,

Not too far off joining you guys, put a deposit down on a ST today for delivery on friday!

One question: Reading the US manual currently, and looks like the ST comes with remote start, do our Aus delivered ones come with the same feature? Anyone able to have a squizz at their manual/test on car and confirm?

Thanks!

Not adr compliant so you won't see it here unless that changes. It's also a feature aimed for colder climates.

Yip plates need to be drilled. Rear plate can be drilled from the standard issue plate 'template' but the front needs to be done free hand (note measure five times, drill once!!)

Which is interesting since the VF commodore is advertising remote start on their range.

Just would be nice to be able to start the car and let it idle whilst i idle down the truck and do my paperwork before getting into the focus.

I got mine in a bracket, no drilling of the plate itself, seems so thin and flimsy tbh. Cost about $60

Ok, this may be just a tad premature, but......I'm getting excited! I may be joining your ranks

For the past couple of weeks I've been considering betting myself an ST. Have read through most of this thread, and done a bit of surfing on the net to get some research done.

Went to the lease company today to work out what the nett effect on my pay packet would be to novate lease one of these babies and relinquish the associate lease on the G6. Had talked with SWMBO about the concept and estimated impact, and it turns out the actual impact would be less than what we had discussed, so it looks like the go-ahead is probable.

Now, the reason why this might be premature is that I have not actually driven one yet. Two main reasons: first, I didn't want the heart to rule the head, as I knew that once I drove it (and assuming I loved it) the head wouldn't have a say in the matter . Secondly, there are no STs in this area, meaning I will need to head down to Melbourne to get a drive. Didn't want to waste my time if there was no way we could afford it.

So, I’m heading home tonight to discuss the matter a bit further with SWMBO, and then it’s time to organise a drive. Looks like we’ll be heading to Melbourne next weekend if I can arrange it. I can see why you guys are getting so excited so close to taking delivery!

I'll let you know how I go. If things progress well, I know I'll be abck in here soon asking questions of you guys.

Carbon is just a flint grey colour. Go black imo

That said I have 20% carbon sunteck tint on my golf and it looks black anyway

You can see by the blue sky and white clouds in the windscreen that I took the photos at daytime... can not see in at all and looks deep black...
