Mate as much as i appreciate what police and epa are supposed to do, youve gotta think this is no 70's rice burner billowing black smoke from burnt oil rings! I dont get how 'noise' pollution could be such an enviro issue. As for the cops - they are raising the revenue as you said maccas drive through.

About the loss of license, ive shamefully had mine taken from me for 12 months and i can tell you i punched a few holes in walls that night thinking its the end of the world. But whether it happens or not, there are alot of people in more than ur in. 12 months is difficult- the hardest part is copping from ur mates u get used to no wheels real quick. No designated driver means more beer! LOL This day an age, there are so many people licenceless anyways. Hope things work out better mate, its not the end of the world.

IMO, the laws are too unclear about modding your car. The new laws that VIC have just put out, which someone posted not too long ago, is actually great, because it has everything layed out infront of you for what you can and cant do, although, much like speed limits, I think there should be a 10% discretion on everything - ride height, exhaust noise, speed, etc.... I mean you can loose a few mm on the front of your car on a downhill slope, or angle, or a fat person in the car, or a few more at the back, depending on the amount of fuel, etc....

EDIT

Found it - the VIC EPA rules - 90db legal limit for vehicles built after 1983

If your living in WA you don't have any of those strict laws or huge fines.

You can have so many wrong modification and at the end of the day only pay $50 fine here in WA. That is all to it. You guys have a hard life over in the East arh.

I remember that Blitz. It was actually close to the intersection of Tooroonga Road & Princes Highway (a known traffic jam in peak hour) just parralel to the railway line. Blitz's involving the EPA, Sheriffs Dept, Police, VicRoads & Centrelink are common here as on South Road, Brighton & Beach Road, Black Rock.

The Caulfield one they had two booze buses aswell as about 12-15 police cars.

One question comes to mind, what law states that foglights must not be for show? Why would that matter?

Losing your licence is interesting, I can only assume your licence was suspended or similar when you got done. Sadly though they pick on modified cars that stand out & I do feel for you as I have been in similar situations before.

The sad thing is, with all the fines etc now and no licence how the hell do they expect someone to pay if they can't drive which makes work harder to come by etc.

If you goto Court you can get a conditional licence permitting you to and from work during daytime only hours though.

I just remember from my own court cases that it was available in VIC.

So not sure if it is now not an option or some other reason?
