Looks are subjective, the Ford looks bigger and tougher more truck like using F150 origins. let be honest its pretty square, the missus hates square cars..

The VW is styled more Tamely, that will appeal more to some

IMO the Navara is the best looking - but I wouldn't buy one.

Agreed on both points on Navara.

First drive reviews are out now. Still waiting to see how much more expensive they will price it over Ranger.

Did notice this though during question time at the launch.

Petrol is seen by Volkswagen as the preferred fuel over diesel for a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), as under the current draft for the Euro 7 rules, the regulations for petrol engines are more lenient than diesel.

“You’ll see the requirements for diesel are much higher than the requirements for petrol, so technically, it’s much easier to bring PHEV (with) a petrol engine,” Mr Sulc told Australian media.

Pretty much confirms to me that the PHEV will have a petrol engine, and not a diesel one. Makes the most sense anyway, cause Ford have a number of turbo 4 hybrid drivetrains to borrow.

Default 2023 VW Amarok

Likely is F1, no matter gives a good preview what they can look like.
PJ yer for sure lowered of photoshopped guards are way close to tyre but luv it.
I wouldn’t lower it but the Aventura comes std with 21’s that will look fine as long as the OE wheel design is nice.

The bottom image is a photoshop someone has done to show what a potential Walkinshaw version might look like. But they would never lower it, so i don’t know why they have done it as it will never come like that.

Agreed Gaso.
Even the Everest looks tuff as.
OE stock look just doesn’t tick the box’s like doing those minor mods once in ownership.
Then you have a very nice personalised vehicle.

This is the part I find interesting...

Amarok Aventura TDI600 3.0-litre turbo diesel V6 auto 4WD – $79,990 (up $6000 vs old Aventura TDI580)
Amarok Aventura TSI452 2.3-litre turbo four-cylinder petrol auto 4WD – $79,990 (new)

I wonder if the interest they've reported for the petrol will convert to sales.

In theory the petrol should be a much cheaper option, having less cylinders, petrol, and without the need for expensive DPF's and all that jazz. Looks like they are using it as a chance to grab some higher profit from it.

Mind you it is replacing a 12yr old previous platform and offerings so $7k diff as quoted expected.
https://www.drive.com.au/news/2023-v...ice-and-specs/

I'm very very happy Ford has brought the game to the competitors and market - thats what competition needs ie Toy company but I like the sheet metal look of the Aventura way more than the FSeries front Ranger but thats me.
They are offering that bit more in features as known for a price and in some comparisons not but thats quite minimal.
I expect interior will look nicer for I thought the old model was better in the cabin as well compared to the rest, high end models talking about.
I'm interested, name down, not in a panic mind you, if I miss the early delivery can wait for next shipments.
Dealer I spoke to this morn said they have 70 allocated in varying models for eg.
I'm through a different Dealer but thought to suss one out as I was driving by.
