That's pretty much what I meant, I had noticed a difference but it works fine regardless so why bother changing it Anyway going off the poll results it would appear it will be changing back to the original format soon

1 in 3 people prefer the new way, i think that's enough to implement the option of either if possible.
after all many openly admitted they wanted the old way purely because they don't like change lol.

The new way is much better for those who only visit the forum from time to time.

New way for me. All other forums I read are done in this fashion. AFF is the only site that auto-reads everything for me.
It's a real pain to open AFF and get called away. Then when I come back 1 hour later, every thing is marked as read! I even posted a thread about this last year http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11366453

Do a little search about this topic and you will probably find I made the suggestion for the poll..... Edit....Did the search for you http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11384501 Reading the above thread and making a judgement call on your post, I'm not the only smartie/tough guy...So I'd suggest you call all the members that agreed with me, the same thing.

This is the thread with the poll in it, you threw out the insult in this thread and I’m throwing right it back at ya in this thread.....why would I bother searching for other threads... As the saying goes.....”If you can’t take defeat graciously, don’t ask for a fight”.....

I'd like to be able to say that I can code it so that it user selectable but at this stage I'm not overly sure that I can. It is certainly technically feasible to do so as it is really just an option that could be added to the UserCP but it's more of a question of changing the current global setting to read the user option based on that selection and them acting properly.
I'll start playing with it on the test server and see what can be done but I'm not sure my coding abilities are up to that! Cheers Russ

Knowing now, what goes into the coding....I have confidence you will be able to do it Russ and if not, you will give it the best go you can
Gaela...pop that kettle on! Cheers Col
