Can't even give light punishment to your kids without the police arresting you. Thankfully the magistrate saw how pathetic this charge was and dismissed the case.

I've just tied up my 78 year old man in the lounge chair and started biitch slapping him until he fesses up! I knocked all his teeth out! That wasn't hard, cause they're not even real! hehehe. Anyway, he swears it couldn't have been him cause he was shagging auntie Voula when it happened! (and don't tell your mother!) I hate the young kids of today! Rude, inconsiderate, selffish, arrogant, lazy. Exactly like I was! I used to be young and stupid, now I'm old and stupid!

It is difficult to imagine that things could have changed so significantly since this thread was created in 2010. My observations tell me the youth of 2017 are worse than only seven years ago. Society is rapidly devolving into anarchy. Just search for SJWs on youtube to see examples of what I mean.
Where we will be in another seven years?

Syndrome this has all happened before. Research late Weimar Germany, particularly in Berlin - the sheer starvation, poverty and depravity.
Edit: just realised it's a car theft/damage thread, lol I should read more than one comment into it

If the kids of today could realise how tough it was for us when we were growing up, perhaps they would respect us more.

It was never proven who did it. So what was the point of you bringing this thread back up again?

Fact is, old people always think today's generation is the worst, the laziest, drug abusers, bludgers, no hopers etc but of course "today's generation is different, they ARE the worst". People have thought this for generations, centuries, millenniums even. It's funny how the lazy no hoper SJW hippies of the 70's have now become today's old people claiming how bad today's lazy no hoper SJW's are |

nah its getting worse.
take one look on social media, its no longer enough to be a rebellious teen....... now you must be in a gang that respresents your postcode, and the more you steal, "creep" through peoples cars, the more drugs you smoke, and basically become the biggest ****head possible, the more respect you get. Most of the youth today are lost beyond what i thought was possible even in my stupid years. |

The youth of today is the prodigy of our teachings, society allows them to get away without showing respect to themselves and others.
We can only blame ourselves. |

And their parents themselves, and their parents...... Social media and a massive growth in news media over the past 10-15 yrs is why it's more in our face, and makes it seem like it's only this generation of "kids" that are out of control. Nowadays there's a camera in just about everyone's hands, that makes it very easy to share with the world how terrible kids are. It also makes it crazy easy to report on the terrible **** this latest generation of youth all do (plus it drives revenue for the media ala ACA type garbage). The reality is that proportionally to todays population, they are no worse overall. Just a lot more people on the planet, with a lot more kids, a lot more opportunity to highlight the bad and hellishly easy to post youth doing "bad" things. Need some perspective. Search for positive news and social media stories and there are a metric ****-ton of great things that youth do. These good news stories didn't have a vehicle to spread the good back in the day. And like all the bad stories, it's much more available to the greater public than 15+ years ago. Works both ways. IMO.

Being that this thread was about some (unknown) thugs who messed up someone's car. With the assumption it was youth...
As a youth worker of 16 years and counting... I only have one question for those that condemn youth... "What helpful, constructive, supportive and positive things are YOU doing to help change the youth community?" If the answer is nothing, then maybe it's time to stop whining and get of your butt and contribute with your fans feet and time if it's such a concern for you.

This is definitely a large part of the problem.

Back in my day living in Brisbane, we had to walk bare foot in the snow to school, and it was uphill both ways.
Basically what I think of every time I see a thread about "back in my day" or "kids these days" |

Kids are a direct result of the environment they've been raised in.
If your kid is a failure then it's because you failed as a parent. Mind you... that's coming from someone who doesn't actually have kids ... |

Different times. Not always the parents fault but it is when they dump the latest Tablet in their lap from the age of 4 and wonder why when they reach their teen-age years they have no social skills, work ethic, no comprehension of money, and suffer from Anxiety.

I once went on a primary school excursion 20 years ago to help out with keeping control of the kids, real sad when the kids tell you you cannot touch them or tell them to do things saying they know their rights.
I was taken back by these comments and thought WTF! what hope would you have this day and age. |

When I was younger an young man was dating my younger sister. I thought he was troublesome at the time. He turned out to be very responsible and they have been married for over 30 years now.
